Yellow, the color of the sunflower. The flower I gave to her.
Her last breath.
I think i took it.
All of her pain.
I could feel it.
Running through my veins.I feel pain. She's dead I think to myself, vanished, gone like the oak tree we set on fire. I was just sitting there and then she set it on fire. She told me it was a sacrifice, she always loved sacrifices. And she loved things that were full of life, flowers too, especially sunflowers lately. She found some of them in full shape, but I thought she was just making something up.
Suddenly I woke up at my bedroom floor, I get the cold breeze from my open window. It's winter and I'm freezing most of the day. While I closed my window I thought I saw a black figure. And it was gone, probably some imagination, I have those a lot lately.
___________________________"Scarlett, we don't smack people in the face. Remember?" I said. "But.. come on, that guy has been stalking me ever since the time I.." She stopped talking when we saw Cara coming over. Cara is blonde and pretty she also is really nice and funny but she always seems to be attracted towards the popular ones. Yes we are popular, actually Scarlett is. I'm just the person she's always with.
We sat down in the cafeteria and I was thinking about my dream last night. I was a little bit shocked when I heard someone say something.
"Well I'm going to buy some food. You guys want some too?" Cara said to break the silence. "No I'm good." I replied when I saw Scarlett looking at Caleb, a dark haired older guy with many rumors about him. Cara left and I asked "Why are you looking at him?"
"Well, you remember when we were in fourth grade, right? And you remember when he had a broken leg?" "Yes?" I said to make her continue the story. "I kind of did that and I think he's remembering." "What, how did you do that?" I blurted out of curiosity.
"Well I always loved to run when I was little, and one day when school was over, i ran into the woods and he was cycling and at that moment I ran into his bike and he fell of that small bridge. His knees were open and I swear I could hear something break." she paused "He never confronted me with it so eventually I just forgot about it."
"Wow, why did you never bring this up?" I asked as I saw him leaving the hallway coming over to us.
"Hello Scarlett, have you thought about my offer?" he asked "Yes I have." she replied as she looked if anyone was listening. "What do you want me to do?"
"I'll let you know when I need you to." he said while leaving a note with a phone number on it.
"Wait is this him remembering? What does he want you for?" I asked while she put the number in her pocket.
I always admired her way of handling things, until it involved getting almost arrested and having a fake alibi that included me lying to the police.
