It All Started With a Party

Chapter 2

Natalie's POV

The five of us scanned the courtyard looking for our usual spot. "Oh my God, Lily. There's your boy." Emily points in Hunter Peterson's direction and we all snap our heads to look. I looked over at Lily, with her pale complexion, it was obvious she was embarrassed. 

I open my bag and begin to eat my salad, zoning out everyone else's conversation. 

"So you guys, I was thinking we should throw a party for my birthday." Mia says, interrupting my thoughts. 

My eyes widen and I start to get excited. "We could throw it at my house. My parents are out of town for the weekend, and your birthday is Saturday."

"Lily, you should go invite Hunter." Emily smirks, her brown eyes sparkling. 

"WIll you come with me, Natalie?" She asks, standing up. 

We both walk over to the group he was in, the jocks. "Hey boys. There's going to be a huge party this weekend, my house. You all should come.." then I add, "and bring whoever you'd like." 

I make eye contact with Hunter, but look away and flash my best smile at the group. 

I look over at Lily, who obviously was head over heels in love with Hunter. I shake my head and begin to walk away, waving at the boys. 

Mia's POV

It was the last period of the day, finally. I was walking alongside Addy in the hallway. 

"What class do you have next?" She asked, her bleach blonde hair swaying as she walked. 

"Photography." I replied. "You?" 

"Pre-AP Calc. Not looking forward to it." Addy said, looking sad that that was her final class.

"Wish I could say the same for Photography, but I'm looking forward to it." 

"Oh yeah, why?" Addy asked me, a curious look on her face. 

I opened my outh to answer, but then I saw one of my best friends, Nathan Evans, who I met freshman year in Photography class. I began to walk his way, so I looked back at Addy. "Hey sorry, I'll talk to you later!" I walked away from her, and towards Nathan. 

"Party Saturday?" I ask him.

He turns around swiftly. It takes him a minute to register who I was. 

"Depends, why and where?" He looks at me, his blue eyes curious.

"My birthday, and Natalie's house." I reply. 

"Oh that should be a crazy one.. I'll be there." He decides, then smiles at me. 

"Yay!" I say, hugging him. He hugs me, and we both walk into the classroom.
