Both my kids came home from school and they saw me looking very happy. "What's the matter with you, mom? You look very happy and I've never seen you this happy before, mom", Rose was asking me as she and John were dropping their bookbags on the floor and taking their shoes off at the same time. "Yeah mom. You look weird", John said as he giggled. "I have something to tell you all at dinner time", as I said in a happy voice. "Can't ya tell us or at least give us a hint is to what it is?", as Rose was being nosey. "Nope!", as I was smiling. "You just have to wait to find out what it is. Now, don't you two have homework to do?", as I was asking them in demand. "Sigh.... Yes mom".
Kathy, later, came home from school and Rose came running out of her bedroom to greet her. "Hey, Kathy. Guess what?" "What?", Kathy answered as she was putting her bookbag on the floor and hanging up her coat. "Mom has something to tell all of us at dinner time", Rose was telling her as she was smiling. Kathy turned to look at me, with a smile and said, "Oh really! What is it mom?" "Sorry.. Can't tell ya. You just gotta wait til dinner time", as I was smiling back to her. "Can't you give us a hint..." "Too late Kathy. I've already tried asking her", as Rose interrupted her sentence. "Awe crap. Not even a little, tiny hint?", as she gave me a hug. "Sorry, not even the tiniest one", still smiling brightly.
A few hours later, my husband, Ray, came home from work and went into the kitchen, as I was almost done with dinner. "Hi Mar. Where are the kids?", as he gave me a kiss hello and then checked what it is in the oven. "They are in their bedrooms, doing their homework, last time I checked", as I was mashing the potatoes. "How long before dinner is ready?", as he was getting hungry. "About 10 minutes", as I was heating up the mixed vegetables. As Ray went into the living room to sit down to relax a bit, the kids came out of their rooms. "Hi dad!", as they gave him hugs and kisses. "How was school today?", as he loves to hear their story, like a song. They talked about kids in school about a weird things that happened during lunch time, as I was setting the table.
"Dinner's ready!", as I called for them. "Come on kids, it's feeding time", Ray was saying it as he was getting off the couch. "Oh, dad. Mom has something to tell us at the dinner table", Rose spoke up, as she was heading to the dining room. "Oh, really?", Ray said, as a concern. I felt nervous and afraid to what his answer will be, when I say it. I helped my son to gather his plate, since he's only 6. "So, what are you going to tell us, Marie", as my husband spoke. Well, here goes nothing....
