I felt the air enter my lungs and leave through my mouth that was open slightly. My eyes fluttered open and sunlight flooded into my vision. I propped myself up on my elbows, and the blankets slowly fell off of my body. The warmth began fading as the cool atmosphere of my house overtook my skin.

The faint rhythm of a train rolling over metal tracks could be heard in the distance as I looked out my window. The grass and trees were laced with cold water. I opened the window, and came to realize that the smell of rain still lingered in the air. The birds were singing beautifully as they stood on light-winged branches and cold, hard fences.I heard my phone beep behind me, so I turned around to check who it was. It was Amanda.

I put my phone down and ran over to my closet to throw on some clothes. I quickly brushed through my hair and brushed my teeth, before throwing open the front door and running outside. Obviously there was not a point to this other than to bellow my excitation to the sky. The dark clouds just seemed like they would listen, the trees seemed like they would care, the grass seemed like it would laugh along with me, the birds seemed like they would want to celebrate with me, and- wow. That was weirdly deep. I don't know, that was strange.
