"And in the 40's I made friends with a man named Oliver." Klaus ran his fingers through her long brown hair.

"I know I was there." Lucia laid on the bed she had the sheets wrapped around her naked body. She looked up at Klaus who was resting against the headboard, he laughed a bit.

"Right, I always forget that you are my past." He leaned and kissed her. "And my present. And my future."

"Don't get sappy." Lucia rose from the bed and gathered her clothes that were sprawled all around the room. She rolled her pantyhose up her legs all while watching Klaus in the vanity mirror. She slid her dress on from the bottom, she felt a pair of cold hands on her exposed back.

Lucia moved her hair to one side to let Klaus zip her up without her hair getting in the way. "I've never seen such a beautiful woman." Lucia turned around and pressed herself into Klaus naked body.

"I have to go."

"Home to him?"

"Yes."

"Are you ever going to tell him what we've been doing for the past months?" Klaus kissed her shoulder.

"Of course not. He doesn't deserve that. Elijah is a good man."

"If he's so good, why do you lay with me every other night?"

"Elijah means nothing to me anymore." Lucia pulls away from Klaus and heads towards the door. Klaus climbed off the bed and put his pants on.

"Than why don't you just leave him?"

"You know it's not that simple. I'm still sired to him and I'm trying very hard to break it but I'm not that strong willed." Klaus snorted in derision. "It's true. I've never been able to gain independence for myself because of you and your god damn brother!" Lucia yelled and stomped out of the house. She got into her car and drove off.

It was a 45-minute drive from Klaus' estate to Lucia's apartment, and being the crack of dawn, it was difficult to keep her eyes open.

When she got home she suddenly felt overcome with guilt. What has she done? She loved Elijah. Loved. No matter her feelings for Klaus nobody deserves to be lied to like she was lying to Elijah.

She unlocked the door and walked inside. Her heart stopped by a figure sitting in the complete darkness. "Christ. I could've ripped your head clean off!" Lucia placed her hand over her beating heart.

"I know where you've been," Elijah spoke dryly. Lucia froze in fear, her stomach fluttered. Could he smell Klaus on her?

"What do you mean?"

"I know Lucio is out. I know you've been with him." Lucia let out a silent sigh of relief.

"I-I'm so sorry Elijah." She forced tears to come to her eyes. "It's just, he's my brother and I love him. I'm so sorry I defied you." Elijah walked over to her and put his hands on either side of her face.

"It's alright love. I trust you. You've gained my trust." He whispered and kissed her forehead. Lucia quickly stepped away from him.

"Would you stop?" Lucia ordered. "Stop being so condescending, stop being so arrogant, stop thinking I'm still the dying girl you saved. I'm not her anymore that was 700 years ago. I can take care of myself."

"Is this about Klaus?" Elijah asked.

"Oh my god." Lucia threw her hands up. "No it's not about Klaus, it's about you. It's always been about you, you forced me into the arms of another man. You don't trust me, you may say you do but you don't, I'm nothing to you, I'm just a peasant in your kingdom." Lucia ranted.
