"Okay guys, so let's get started by telling a bit about yourselves? Like... what your hobby is, or your favorite type of music, anything." I smiled.

Nobody speaks up, which I expected since it always takes a brave soul to break the ice.

"C'mon guys, nothing?" I took pause and look to the back of the room to my right. "Lorie, what is a hobby you like to do on your spare time?" I asked, changing my methods.

She looked surprised at me.

"...Uh, um... I like to sing.. I guess. I do it all the time." She says quietly.

"Oh you do? Well, I like to sing too." I sung the last few words with a cocky smile.

I heard a slight chuckle to the left of me. I looked and there was Liam, with a small adorable smile on his face.

"That.. was actually pretty good." Lorie said, sounding a little astonished.

"Thanks, I'm sure you have a great voice also." I said looking at Liam then back to Lorie.

She had a shy smile fixed on her face.

"Anybody else care to share anything about themselves?" I ask.

I look to Liam.

"Liam? How about you?" I ask, calling him out for his chuckle, jokingly of course.

He looked slightly wide eyed at me. I didn't expect all these kids to be be such shy mice.

"Um, well I like singing too. Err, I love to read novels or superhero comics."

There were a few chuckles and snickers.

"I know it's a bit childish," Liam smiles, "But it keeps my mind off my past and gives me something to do for periods of a day." He finishes.

"I don't find it childish at all Liam." I said, eyeing a few kids I thought who laughed.

"I think its great you've found something to keep you and your mind occupied. That's great." I smiled.

He looks down, but I see a unmissable smile creep its way on his face.

"I too, love to read comic books. I guess you can say I'm a geek for comic books." I chuckle, talking more to the whole class than just Liam this time.

"And once I started to love comics, I found myself doodling a lot more. Which is why I also love to doodle." I said.

"Could you do a little doodle for us? On the chalk board?" A younger voice to the back left of the room speaks up.

"Oh yes. That's what I had planned." I said gladly. "What's your name again little man?" I smiled.

"Cane." He said.

"Well Cane, your name reminds me of a candy cane. So when I think of 'candy cane', I think of Christmas." I said, picking up a chalk stick and starting to draw on the board my doodle.

"When I think of Christmas, my mind remembers a big, fat, creep old guy in a red suit. Santa Clause. " I say, getting a few slight laughs from my students.

I start to draw a big candy cane and Santa Clause hold it with a big smile. Because I'm the joyous type.

"So Santa, is fat. So I assume, he'll like a big nice candy cane for one of his daily snacks." I say, drawing my doodle straight from imagination.

A few minutes go by as I draw the drawing on the board.

"And before you know it, you have a very happy Santa Clause with one of his favorite snacks, a candy cane." I say, with my finished product displaying on the board.
