CM: CHAPTER 11

It been so long that I had this glimmer of hope that just maybe she would have pulled through, that just maybe we could go back to the way our life was before all the sickness and the curse. A  time when we were happy and looking forward to our lives together. 

All that had been just a fantasy of a paradise we would not have. 

I sat looking out the bay window of my room as I contemplated on my next move. We would most definitely have to move back home since the only reason  we were here was to see if we could cure my wife but shes' gone now, the only reminder I have left of her is our wonderful child.

It would have  better if we were both here by her side when she took her last breath but I think in a way she would not have wanted her only child to see her die.

*Flashback*

"Gerrad my love" I heard my wife's faint voice call as I made my way up the stairs, balancing a tray with breakfast in my hands.

"Ah E you're awake" I said to her leaning into kiss her forehead as I placed the tray on the night stand beside the bed.

"Yeah" She replied snuggling into me.

"How are you feeling?" I asked, ever so hopeful that she would one day get better.

"I can feel death" She replied as if it was nothing at all.

I pulled away from her a bit in shock.

"What do you mean?" I asked not sure what else to say.

"I dreamed that I was in a vast meadow last night and I met the goddess, she showed me all the the wolves there happily playing. I saw my mother, my father and my brother David." She stated looking at me. 

"They said they were all waiting for me." She replied a small smile on her face which was the total opposite to my horror stricken one.

"No, you will get better baby, You can't leave me now" I replied the desperation in my voice shocking even me.

"Its ok love, you will be ok, just promise me that you will take care of our child, that you will be a guiding hand and a protector." She said to me, her hands running over the soft stubble of my face before pulling my face to her for a chaste lingering kiss.

"You will both be fine and I will watch over you both, she showed me many things some of which I cannot say but our child will become a great Alpha one not seen for centuries, our enemies will pay, each of them will get their just rewards for what they did" 

I could feel the tears rolling down my face as she spoke. 

I don't know how  was going to survive without her or if I would survive at all.

"I am at peace with my death G, its been so long I got to see my child grow, graceful and strong, talented and wise. Yes we might have been cursed and the curse can't be broken unless the witch who caste it is found and killed but we still have proved that we are strong no matter what."

*flashback end*

I had hugged her like my life depended on it and I never left her side until she died in my arms that day, it seemed so surreal as I watched the light leave her eyes, as I felt her soul and her wolf caress mine one last time.
