I stepped into the throne room and bowed to the king. He grinned, greeting me "Audri, it is good to see you again. I trust you have chosen your regiment?" I nodded slowly, looking up "I choose to join the scouts that work in human enviroments. I will devote myself utterly and completely to protecting and serving those who require it." I say, my tone serious. The king's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. Merging with humans isn't something most vampires enjoy or agree to.

Nevertheless he didn't question me and nodded "As for your partner, one has already been chosen for you. He will be here shortly." As if on cue the doors opened and in pranced a tall, black haired male with stunning green eyes. As he walked closer my eyes widened. It was theif dude!

He grinned, reaching me and slinging a arm over my shoulder "Did you miss me?" I groaned internally, then slapped his arm away, giving him a death glare "No, actually, I didn't" I huffed turning to the king "With all due respect your highness, surely this dufus isn't my partner"

The king just gave me a smile "It seems you to get along well. I request you spend the rest of the evening together. That way you can get to know each other." Before I could protest theif guy was dragging me out of the room.

Finally, when we were sufficiently far away he stopped, sitting on a side bench. He gave me a expectant look before patting the spot beside him. I maintained my glare, sitting down. He just chuckled "Calm down, princess, or you'll burn down the building with that look" I sighed turning away "Whatever. I told you not to call me that...." He grinned "Aw, but you look just like one" I glared at him again "You know, I have a name for you too. Its 'Theif' but it varies to include 'Imbecile'-" he cut me off planting a hand over my lips and pouting "Those aren't very nice..." I pushed his hand away "Because I'm not"

He shook his head "Your kind or you wouldn't of helped that wolf or given me a chance" his cheeky grin returned "Anyways, my name is Jayce, what's yours?" he said nudging my shoulder. I scowled "I'm Audri"

He jumped up, grinning "A glorious name." I rolled my eyes and stood up as well "So, why do you want to work in a homosapien enviroment?" I questioned glancing at him.

He gave a shrug, starting to walk to the palace's garden "I guess they intrigue me. We are very similar except for our diets and schooling. They have different ways to entertain themselves, while we have books only" He turned to face me, eyes glittering "Imagine living in their place." He turned back around "Besides entertainment, their way of selecting a romantic partner is different"

I furrowed my brows. I'd never thought of any sort of romantic relationship. I looked back up and shrugged "I guess..." His eyes widened "Have you never considered having a boyfriend?" I blushed and looked away nonchalantly "Maybe I haven't. Its not like I need one. I've gotten along just fine by myself"

He sighed and shook his head then grinned "Thats fine. When we pick a location I'll set up blind dates for you" I sent him a glare and smacked the back of his head "No, you will not" He sent me a sheepish smile then nodded in consent "Fine, fine. Unfortunately I have to leave now, but expect to see me soon" he winked and turned around, sprinting off. I huffed and rolled my eyes, dusting myself off

"He is so optimistic..." I heard something bounce off the floor and looked down. There, in front of my feet rested a ring with a black and silver band. The ring he'd given me in the test. I picked it up, grabbing a piece of paper that rested inside the ring.

'Although I'm a theif I'm a man of my word. I do believe that you are the rightful owner of this ring. Take care of it, princess.

~Jayce'

I looked at the path he'd run to and smiled ever so slightly as I slipped the ring onto my finger. Maybe teaming up with him wouldn't be so bad...

With that last thought I turned around and walked back to my room to rest. Tomorrow we'd go into deeper detail about where we wanted to live for the next few years.
