Author's note: The chapters will probably be named after the point of view I follow. Enjoy this chapter and tell me what you think.

Fitz woke to the sound of gunfire. He was face-down in the lab, his head throbbing, his thoughts scrambled. The last thing he remembered was working on some project with Simmons, and being happy she finally wanted to start working again. Then shots went off, and armed men stormed his work space. The engineer looked around the lab, no Simmons in sight.

What is happening?? Fitz thought to himself, standing up, stumbling a bit, and eventually regaining his balance.

Grabbing an icer off a table, Fitz tentatively walked to the lab door and looked out into the hall. The gunfire mostly stopped, so he figured it was safe to go out.

"Fitz! Oh, thank goodness." A voice came from behind the engineer's shoulder. He whipped around.

"Coulson! What's going on? Why were there guns going off? Where's Jemma?" He had more questions, but the Director cut him off.

"We were raided. Someone found out where our base was, probably HYDRA. And... What do you mean 'Where's Jemma?'. She's not with you?"

"Uh, no. She was but... The men infiltrated the lab, I got knocked out, and she wasn't with me when I woke up. Do you- do you think Hydra got her?" Fitz prayed this wasn't true. Hydra was ruthless, a bunch of brutes. If Jemma had information they wanted, they would stop at nothing to get that information from her, even if that meant killing her.

Coulson took a breath. "I hate to say it, but that seems likely." He paused. "Okay, I don't hear any more shots. I'm gonna round everyone up. We'll meet in the lab in 10. Got it?"

Fitz nodded, and went back into the lab.

"Listen up team," Coulson started, surveying his team's faces, "One of our best got taken by Hydra today. We are going to do everything in our power to get her back. Forget all other assignments. This is the most important. Understand?"

His team nodded, looking around with determined faces. Fitz looked more angry than driven, and that was a scary thing. Hydra, by taking Jemma, unleashed a beast in Fitz. A beast that would only be tamed with Simmons, his Simmons, back in his arms.

Hi! I re-wrote this chapter and I like it better now. I know this whole storyline has actually played out in the show now but I will continue this.
