Another lovely poem written by me. We have had a ton of storms go through my home town lately and so I just decided that this was an adequate comparison because of how similar the storm is to human feelings. I hope you enjoy!

This song is one of my favorites and it's by Simon & Garfunkel and it's the first song I think of when I think storm. I love this song so much!

My Heart is a Storm

~

My heart is a storm

Gray, black, and bruised

Their words like lightning

Cracking away the roots of my trees of life

Tiny inlets of hope, rain wash in

I seek shelter

Running as fast as my pale little legs can go

My home is the heart within my heart

Where the ones I love have passed through or stayed

Where I am most often held at

Rain pounds on my glassy eyes but I never let it escape

It might frighten my house and my true love

Oh my true love

The one ray of light the speck of sun

The one color of the world

You slash the clouds of saddenss and draw me in

So I stay dry and safe

Listening to the rain, the cracks, the chaos that surrounds

I smile knowing he's here to comfort me

And I grin because they can't hurt me

And well my heart is a storm

A well mastered one at that

A chaotic swirling mass

But I have the ones in my life that keep me grounded

And safe from the storm that rages inside
