Mello wished he could sleep more. Where he could run away from reality and be free in his dreams. Unfortunately, when he wakes up it's back to the shit he calls reality. He sat up from his bed tired. Mello got out of bed and stetched his arms. He grabbed a towel and his toothbrush and walked into his bathroom. He placed his items on the sink counter then began undressing himself. He didn't want to look in the mirror and see himself. He'd just be disappointed. Mello put his clothes in the hamper then turned the shower head on. He waited for the water to warm up then got in. Mello quickly washed himself then got out and dried himself. He brushed his teeth then walked back into his room to change. Mello always dressed in all black. He thought it looked better than in any other color. He wore a tight sleeved shirt with jeans and black boots. He grabbed his favorite black and grey hoodie and put that on as well. Mello fixed his hair, grabbed his books and bag then walked down stairs. He checked the time on the clock on the wall. '6:23' Class would start soon for him. There wasn't anyone out in the halls this early. Only Mello and a few other kids his age lived in this side of the building. They were separated by their age and grades. Mello didn't really care where he was placed. As long as he wasn't bothered, everything was fine. Mello decided to go to class early. He walked to his class and sat down in his seat near the window. He got his books out for this class. He opened up his note book and took out a pen. 'Waiting for class sure is boring.' Mello thought. 'I should have gone to the library to get more books.' Mello sighed. Minutes passes, then a few kids started entering. Mello noticed a particular one come on. Near. Mello didn't like him. He knew near since he was seven. At first they were both one of each other. But then they started testing. Mello used to be the one who got the top score, but Near beat him. Mello was upset and jealous that Near was number one. That's when Mello grew distant from Near and began to loathe him. The only things Mello beat Near at was his social skills and physical activity. Near was weak. But he was strong when he used his mind. Mello tried his best to ignore Near. What made things worse was Near sat next to Mello. Near placed his book and notebook on the desk in front of him.

"Hello Mello. Did you sleep well?" Near asked. Near knew that Mello didn't like him because of their scores. But Near was still fond of Mello. He still thought if him as if friend even if Mello didn't.

"What do you want?" Mello asked.

"I wanted to know how you were doing. Is that wrong?" Near replied.

"Yes it is. I don't talk to people whom I do not like. So go away." Mello said. The teacher came in. Mello looked up at them. They had a substitute. 'Great.' Mello thought. When there's substitutes, there's no work to do.

"Mello, I have already read through our next lesson we were supposed to learn today. Do you want to go over it? I know that you'll say no to it, but you will end up paying attention and focusing on what we have to do. Now open up your book to page 346." Near said. He opened up his book to the lesson. Mello was annoyed but Near was right. Still Mello wanted to beat Near to the pulp. He was just so annoying and made everything worse. Once class was over, Mello gathered up his things quickly and went to the library. Mello sat down at one of the tables there. It was peaceful and quiet. Mello left his things at the table and went to search for a few books. He found the textbooks he needed and a book about murderers. They had the most twisted and evil killers in history, almost everything about them in it. Mello was interested in things like this. He'd study the minds of these killers, their motives, details of the murders they committed, how their minds worked and their perpective on these killings. Mello sat down back at the table and began reading one of the textbooks he had brought with him. He heard something vibrate in his book bag. Mello searched his book bag and pulled out his phone. He had gotten a text from his close friend Matt.

'Where are you? I've been looking for you since class ended. Are you in the library again?' It read. Mello replied.

'Yes I am in the library. You know I have to study. If you're coming, don't use you're annoying game. If I hear it I'll start to lose focus.'

'Fine fine, I won't use it. I'm heading over there now.' Mello put his phone away. He focused back on the textbook. Matt soon came. He sat down next to Mello.

"Hey Mel's, how's it going?" Matt smiled at him.

"I'm okay. What about you?"

"I'm great!" Mello had finished reading one textbook then grabbed another.

"That's good to know." Mello said. Matt nodded.

"Guess what?" Matt said.

"What?" Mello asked.

"I beat the entire game!" Matt grinned. Matt looked at the book of murderers. "What's this?" Matt grabbed the book. "You never told me you were into this stuff."

"Well yes I do like these kind of things." Mello said.

"Tell me more aout this, I'm curious now." Matt smiled. Mello felt happy when Matt wanted to talk about something he liked. Mello and Matt talked endlessly about the murders. Then they got off topic and talked about different things going on in the world. Time passed by and now it was 10:12. "I guess we have to go next class huh?" Matt sighed. Mello got up and began picking up the books. Matt grabbed the books from him. "I'll carry them for you." Matt smiled.

"I can carry them myself Matt." Mello sighed and grabbed his book bag.

"You are going to let me carry them whether you like it or not." Matt and Mello walked out of the library and to the next class they had together.
