Mello is an orphan at Wammy's competing to become the next L. He is suffering from all the pressure between life. There have been murders going around in one of the big cities in the United States, Los Angeles. L has asked both of his successors, Mello and Near, to assist him in the case. Of course Mello agrees to, but this just brings more chaos into his life.
