Chapter Four: Reality Is An Illusion

OK GUYS I'VE MADE SOME CHANGES.

So you might wanna go read the first chapter again. I will delete this part in like two weeks.

"Can you continue?" The referee questioned. I spat out some blood and stood up, shaking off the dizziness. When I nodded the crowd broke into cheers. The hunter grinned and prepared to fight. It was kind of masochistic of me to continue. I knew that he would kick my ass, but Leo and anyone who's ever known me would know I'm stubborn to a fault.

I felt my ribs ache with protest as I got into a fighting stance as the referee signalled for us to start. My opponent grinned and winked as a cold flood of realization washed over me. I knew what he was as soon as I saw his fangs protruding from his malicious grin. I couldn't fight a bloodsucker without a stake, I was technically still a novice. He had started circling around at a speed I could hardly see, I tried catching Leo's eye so he could see something wasn't right but I couldn't seem to find him in the crowd. Before I knew what was happening the bloodsucker had me pinned to the floor.

I woke up in my bed with Leo's worried eyes staring down at me. I tried to get up but a pain flared through my ribs. I clutched at them to find my midsection wrapped in gauze.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Well." Leo paused to grab my hand. "After we sparred you fell down the arena stairs and cracked your ribs. You must've been hallucinating because you're eyes we're open but you weren't responding."

I breathed in a sigh of relief, it was an odd relied to know my insanity was the culprit, not another vampire in our midst. As I remembered my prisoner I slowly got out of bed.

"I've got to visit my prisoner." I protested as Leo gently picked me up and placed me back on my bed.

"No, you've got to rest." He stated in that tone of voice I had come to learn meant he wouldn't budge. He leaned in to kiss me and I obliged. As soon as he left I felt myself drifting into sleep.

Sorry for the short and long awaited update, my life has been hell and I needed a break from everything, but I'm back now :)
