Annie's POV
I wake up with a bright light shining in my eyes. "Mommy? Daddy? Hay... Caleb?" I ask. I look around to see my mommy sitting in a chair by me.
"Where am I? Where's Hayley and Caleb? Where are they, mommy?" Mommy starts to cry. I look at her confused.
"Annie, Caleb died last week, remember? He's been gone for a week. How do you not remember.... How??"
She gets up and leaves the room. I feel a tear go down my cheek. I remembered. Caleb's gone.
"Why, oh god why me? Why us?! What did we ever do to you? I want my brother back! I want him. Give him back!!" I cry and cry. I cry so much my pajamas a soaking wet. "Caleb..." I say tiredly. I faint on the pillows of my bed.
My dad comes in the room.
"Annie. Stay strong, sweetie. Your mother and I can't manage to lose you too. We know you'd do anything to see him again, but you can't yet. He's your brother and my son so he's always with us. I know that. Tomorrow, we'll go to church, and you can see some friends. The doctor says it's best for you to go out more and socialize face to face. We'll be able to leave here in a few hours. When we're here, we decided to get all of our hearts checked."
I smile. "Im sorry daddy. I don't know what happened. I just forgot... I don't know how or why. It just happened." We hug for about a minute, then go get a snack.
"Are we gonna film today?" Hayley asks.
"No. Please, let's not. I don't care if it's Halloween or what other people say, but I don't want that thing in my face today, PLEASE."
