Behind that Smile

Who would have known? One of the happiest girls, the one who always smiled, the one who never seemed to be down, the one who everyone claimed to have "a perfect life" hid behind her smile.

She hid secrets but didn't show them. Instead, she buried them deep inside her soul hoping it would rot. Hoping that it would just disintegrate in her fiery heart. But no. Her heart ignited it. And she paid the price.

Behind her smile is a pained little girl. No one really knows about her. They just assume she is fine because even in the worst of times, she smiles.

Behind her smile is a broken girl. Rebuilding herself everyday just to be torn down again. Always hiding the sadness, guilt, sorrow, the Pain she felt.

No. Nobody knew that behind the happy, cheerful, go-lucky girl was a beat-down, tortured, insecure spirit waiting to be released. Waiting for the girl who to finally break down. To show her true colors.

And who is this girl? Who is this tortured soul? Well, it is me of course.
