She stood by the Divergence,
It finally came to existence.
Her darkest fear, she face now;
The nightmare had intruded into reality! She stood by the Divergence,
Which way to go?
She's not sure!
To continue with the shady tunnel?
Or walk the wide open road under the white sky?The tunnel was her addiction,
Something that she adored.
The road was her dream,
A path she wanted to explore from four.
Tunnel walls were mates,
Air of happiness was a stranger to her.
The tunnel had lights to alleviate darkness,
The rays of the morning star ameliorated the road's brightness.
The tunnel was protective but binding,
The road was unshackle but uncertain. The Divergence had arrived,
It was time to make the choice.
What ought to she do?
Which path to follow?
She stood in dilemma, dumbstruck,
with her mind so hollow. There is pain to leave the tunnel,
But, the road could offset it.
The voices inside guide to take the road,
But, her heart says not to break the vow.The road would give freedom,
But the tunnel is her love.
She stood by the divergence,
Staring the two paths for her.
At the end, her choice would make all the difference for her.Story behind "The Divergence"
I wrote this poem in late midnight. It is an inspired one. The poem is about a girl, A close friend of mine. She used to be a lively person, one who always had a smile on her face and could never see anyone crying. But, from a week or so i could not find that billion dollar smile. She walked in her own world, deviated from reality, friends and family. I asked her, and after what i discovered, i stood speechless. She was facing the toughest time that no one could even imagine.
She was a cheerful girl but when she got her mind into something she did it with ultimate dedication and loyalty. Irrespective of what it is, her homework, her friendship or her relationship. This time,it was her relationship that was causing her trouble.
Five years ago, she got into relationship with him. Honestly, these two were a sweetheart, the best school couple i had ever seen. Both of them could not live without each other.
Everything was going just perfect, when something strange and unprecedented happened. He started behaving differently. He began to ignore her, showed least interest in her. They began to have fights. It is not that they did not have fights earlier but they were not so intense. She used to cry all night. Although she had the poker face, anyone could tell that she was broken from inside.Everyone suggested her to leave him. At some points, she also thought that this was the best solution. But as we all know, speaking something is much easier than actually doing it. Even though she showed courage and told him to break up, she herself could not handle the pain and walked the same road again.
She felt pain on leaving him, he had became her addiction. But she was also not happy staying with him. She was stuck in between. Her life had became a huge spiral that she was not able to escape. And,therefore, i came up with it, "The Divergence". Her choice would make all the difference for her.
P.S.-- Although, the poem has been written in relation to a particular person. It goes out to every person out there who is stuck in between two decisions and their choice would make all the difference for them. Choose well, you might not get a second chance.
