My phone ringing startled me as I was in a meeting physically but mentally elsewhere. Looking at the caller id I saw it was Mrs Potter. She never called me, unless something was wrong, could it be Ruva.
"Sir you have to come and stop her," she said once I picked up the call.
"What?"
"The madam she refuses to listen to anyone. We told her we will help her carry her bags but she said she is perfectly fine."
"Come again?" He said listening to Mrs Potter as she stated her case. The first thing I saw was Ruva dragging her suitcase out of the house with Mrs Potter trying to stop her.
"Where do you think you are going?"
"Home," she said not looking at him.
"Leave us," I said to Mrs Potter before stepping closer to her. Leaning down toward her ear I said, "You will not go anywhere of else I will have you locked away for kidnapping my child. Besides by the time you reach your home, you will be homeless and penniless after a few calls."
Looking into her eyes I saw all life leave them as she looked at me with pure hatred. Smirking at her I took her bag calling one of the men to take it back in.Against my better judgement I decided to work from home knowing she would go back out there once I left. Whilst in my office I heard the pitter patter of raindrops as they fell from the heavens before hearing Mrs Potter calling out to my wife. Getting up in frustration I wondered what she was up to now.
Running down the stairs I followed the sound of voices spotting her outside through the glass door.
"Ruvarashe get inside the house now. You will get sick!" I growled as lightning flashed across the sky.
"Oh live a little Enzo," she laughed out spreading out her arms.
My heart skipped a beat, what had she just called me?"Light a fire and run a hot bath for her, I don't want her catching a cold," I growled to no one in particular as the men and women scurried off looking worried as I removed my slippers. I hated the rain it came with lightning something that always unsettled me. But this woman refused to get into the house and there was no way I was going to leave her out there when she was carrying my child.
Putting on the wellingtons I marched towards her. Spotting me she started running away from me as I advanced towards her. Running towards her a couldn't help but laugh seeing her lopsided grin as she tried to dodge me when I got closer to her. Scooping her up in my arms clearly surprised my my actions she squealed in delight as her arms went around my neck by their own accord. I heard her breath hitch as I lowered my head towards her."I told you to get in the house, now look at us," I whispered as she stiffened in my arms.
Settling her onto her feet not wanting her to be uncomfortable in my presence she avoided my gaze by all means. She shivered visibly as she started making her way towards the house wrapping her arms around herself. Thunder rumbled as I stood looking at her making me rush back into the house.-----
Ruvarashe's POV
Why did he have to look so hot as he strutted towards me? These blasted hormonal fluctuations where not helping one bit as I looked at him. And why did I have to blurt out a nickname? He looked furious but his eyes told me otherwise and following my instincts I ran away from him and was rewarded by a hearty laugh as he finally caught up with me.
The heat radiating from him sipped into my skin as I realized the position we were in. He lowered his head towards me making me stiffen in his arms. This is not what I wanted, I told myself. He is a brute remember. When he placed me on the ground I made sure to not look at him, afraid of what I would see, or what I would reveal to him.
Heading back to the house I was grateful when I found a hot bath already set up for me and a fire lit warming up the bedroom.
Letting my body soak in the hot water I cherished this time of relaxation for soon I would have a little one demanding all my attention. Falling asleep I woke up with a start as I heard someone knocking on the door.
