It started when grovers uncle ferdinand returned. His DEAD uncle ferdinand. As in the medusa victim.
Then katie's cousin, molly engals, daughter of apollo, also a medusa victim.
By now i was kinda freaking out.
Then kimber called.
I was eating lunch and reading a book. Annabeth was looking at me weirdly, probably because of the book, the outsiders.
I was so into the book that i didnt notice the iris message until the person cleared their throat, at which i jumped about a foot in the air.
"Oh hey kierstyn."
"Actually its kimber right now." Dang her multiple personalities always confusing me!
"Anyway... so whats up? You never call just to chat."
And then she went into detective mode and pulled a bulletin board behind her.
It was covered in pictures and news articles with a huge map and string.
"Uh oh."
"First of all, hes back."
"Who?"
She pointed at a news article about a missing statue. The title? The poker player. "Oh."
"Hes been killing people left and right. Ive layed out the pattern and time frame of each murder along with the vic's stats. Black hair, green eyes, all between the hights of 5'8 and 6'4. The victims all show signs of several beatings and repeated rape. And hes circling in on your apartment. The last vic was found a block away. He was in direct vicinity to where he was kidnapped. Basically, gabe is hunting you down. Get mom and paul out of there. Now."
She cut through the iris message and i noticed leo standing behind me and annabeth staring at me.
"What did kierstyn call for?" Leo asked.
"Kimber. And uhm... well..." i thought for a moment before settleing on what to say. "Hey leo? You should probably start your search for calypso. Dont go alone."
"Who is gabe? That name sounds familiar. Its gonna bug me. And whats this about the friggin sociopath is after you?!" Annabeth was pissed to say the least.
Leo paled at the mention of gabe. "But i thought he got turned to stone... oh. Damn it shes planning something. But why did she bring molly and the satyr back?..." he walked off still thinking aloud.
"Who is planning something?" Annabeth was about to explode because she couldnt figure out what was going on.
"Her backup plan. Revenge. Shes mad because she lost the war..." annabeth's face took on a look of stark realisation.
"Geia..." she whispered.
"Bingo."
