Grace pov
It was a few days before Christmas, and Harry and I were doing an interview about our engagement."Well my first question, is how did you two meet? When you two started dating, everyone started trying to figure out how you two met." The interviewer asked. Harry looked at me. "Do you want from the very beginning or how we met before we started dating?" Harry asked. "The beginning would be preferred." The man said. "Well, my parents worked at Buckingham palace, my mother a maid, my father a butler. And since we didn't have a lot of money and couldn't afford daycare. They took me with them and make me stay in the servants quarters. But when I was six, I got bored and wanted to explore. So I snuck out and found the nursery. A party had been going on, and it was crowded and no one took notice of the little girl wandering around. So I found the nursery, where just my luck the two Princes were playing. Harry came over and asked me if I wanted to play with him. I did." I said I looked to Harry so he could finish the story. "So after a while, my mother came in to collect William and I, she saw the extra child playing with us. And my mother doing what any mother would do, when finding a strange child playing with her children. She asked asked Grace who she was, and second's later Grace's mother rushed in, and collected her, apologizing multiple times about Grace being their." Harry said looking at me. "Then we grew up, not knowing each other. But then when I was 16, I started working at the Palace to just get bye and complete school. Every once in awhile, I saw Harry, but in my mind I saw him as just another diplomatic figure visiting Her Majesty. Till a few years ago, when he and William came to speak with their Grandmother, and usually I would just leave to give her Majesty privacy, like I did with all the other members of the royal Family. But she asked me to stay, and during the entire time Harry and William were their, Harry started at me. Then when we were dismissed, Harry caught me outside and gave me his number and asked me when he could call me. And the rest is history." I said. "You said you worked for her Majesty, what did you do for her?" The man asked. "I was a runner, I ran post to and from Her Majesty's study. I took notes for her when she asked me to do, I guess my position was kind of like a secretary except I didn't deal with phone calls or diplomatic figures, with the exception of taking notes." I said. "So, how did you propose?" The next question came. "Well I called her one night before her day off, to relax before her first Race. So I called her up and asked her if she wanted to have a day out on the city. She said yes, then most of the rest of the night, I spent setting everything up. I then sent her on a scavenger hunt through out the city. I sent her to her old Flat, then her favorite record store, then Abby lane, where she got to meet Sir Paul McCartney. Then she went to Kensington and had tea with my father and Camilla. Before she went to Buckingham palace, when she was given roses from Kate, William, my Grandfather, my grandmother, my father, Camilla, three of the staff Grace was friends with, then one of her close friends. And at the top ad the stairway, was me with two last rose and the ring." Harry said. "Sounds like you put a lot of time into it," "I did and it was completely worth it." Harry said. Taking my hand. "Now it's a family ring correct?" "Yes, it was my Grandmother's ring, my grandparents wanted me to use it when I proposed to the girl I wanted to marry, so when I told my grandparents I wanted to preposterous, my grandmother took her ring off and gave it to me then and their, I tried to reject it, but she and grandfather insisted." Harry said. "can you tell us about the ring?" Harry lifted my left hand so it was I shot of the camera. "I was told the middle diamond is a three carat diamond with five smaller diamonds surrounding it on each side." Harry said. "Lady Grace How does it feel to have Her Majesty's ring?" "Um, it's an honor to have it. Towards the end of my time working for her, she slowly became a grandmother figure to me." I said. "Now you two have adapted to being apart for long periods of time, do you think that could affect your relationship?" I looked at Harry and we both knew the answer. "I don't think so, we have gone long times with out physically being together, but I think the longest time we went without speaking was from Christmas to two weeks before William's wedding, while I was in the Arctic. But that was a small bump, and of course we both were excited to see each other again, and we both stayed faithful, during that time." Harry said. "Now, did you ask her father for his blessing, before or after you preposed?" I shifted, uneasily at the mention of my father. Harry took my hand and gave it a squeeze. "My father isn't with us anymore, he and my mother died in 1999, when I was 16. They both had terrible health from smoking cigarettes, both died of heart failure, I remember telling them. That they shouldn't have gone to work that day. Yet the both did, my mother said, 'we can't abandon her Majesty.' Can, can we turn the camera off?" I asked, as I wiped a tear away. "Turn the cameras off." Harry said sternly. "I'm sorry but we can't," the man who was interviewing us said. Harry seemed mad. But the man handed Harry a box of tissues. I took one and wiped my eyes. "Hey, it wasn't your fault." Harry said. "I'm sorry, I didn't know that was a sensitive subject." The man said. "We all have our sensitive subjects," I said and I wiped my eyes once more. "Why do you say that?" He asked. "After working at a home for girls for the last few months, they all showed me their sensitive subjects. One of the girls, she had problems with self-harm, depression, and anorexia. I was the only one she let get close, and one night she poured her heart out to me, telling me everything." I said as I wiped my eyes again. "And that's what you love doing, working with teens and kids?" I nodded, "when Harry and I started dating, I though God was wanting me to be a teacher, but he showed me he wanted me to work with troubled teens." I said. "But back to my original question, did you get permission from a family member?" "Well until after I won my gold metal, I thought myself as an orphan, because I thought all of my family was dead. But I was called by my granddad who I hadn't seen in twelve years. So when I had another Free day, we took a train to Liverpool and met with him, where Harry asked him for his blessing. He did give it and he promised to give me away." I said, which brightened my mood. Harry put his arm around me and kissed the side of my head making me laugh. "So when did you meet Prince Charles?" He asked. "Um, formally, I was introduced to him by Harry. But informally, I ran into him in the hallway at Buckingham palace." I said. "Well that's all the questions I have, and congratulations to you both." He said. "Thank you," Harry said. I nodded and smiled.
