“Do you remember where you lived? Or whatever?” she was talking to me like I was crazy but she was worried.
“Yeah, of course… I’m telling you, last night I was eighteen.” She sighed and nodded. I gave all the indications to my house or what it used to be my house. I have a headache. We finally arrived. I took a deep breath. She stopped the car and looked at me.
“Do you want me to go with you?” I looked through the window. It’s my house, it’s still there. I can see the window of my bedroom but the curtains are not the same. I looked at her again. “You know, Kate, probably your parents or… I don’t know what to say…” she passed her hands through her hair. I nodded. “But I’m here for you.”
“Yes, please, come with me!” My hands were shaking and my heart was aching and pounding very fast. We got out from the car and went to the door. She grabbed my hand and honestly I was grateful for that. I rang the bell. I heard footsteps. The door opened. A teenage girl appeared. She widened her eyes when she saw us.
“Omg!” she winched. “Catherine Tomlinson and Danielle Peazer at my door.”
“Your parents are at home?” she smiled.
“Mom!” she screamed. After one minute my mom appeared. She smiled politely.
“I’m sorry, can I help you?” The tears forming again.
“Mom it’s me!” She furrowed her eyebrows.
“Mom?”
“I’m your daughter, don’t you remember me?” She was scared.
“I’m sorry, but, I think you should leave.” The tears were falling by now. I shook my head.
“No… You don’t understand. You’re my mom. You have to remember me. I’m your daughter. I am.”
“Kate, please, let’s go.” Danielle started to push me.
“She’s my mom, you don’t understand…” The door closed. I was sobbing, crying my life out. “Mom! Please tell her.” I fell to the ground. “She’s my m-mom!” Danielle pressed her knees to the ground and hugged me.
“Hush babe… It’s ok! Everything is gonna be just fine. Shh.” She hugged me tight. “Let’s go to the car, come.” She helped me getting up and we went to the car. My heart was hurting so badly I couldn’t even talk. Why is this happening to me? Why she doesn’t remember me? Danielle was looking at me like I was some broken doll who needed be fixed. But I just want my parents.
“We’re here.” I cleaned my face and looked to her. I furrowed my eyebrows. “Your house, darling.” I sighed. My house is not here. I saw two cars in there. “I guess the boys are here!” I looked to her and gasped. “It’s okay, sweetie!” I ran my hands through my hair. “They are your friends. We all are, ok?” I sighed and nodded.
“You think I’m crazy!” I couldn’t blame her though; honestly I would think the same. She sighed. “No I don’t! I think you’re just confused…” I shook my head.
“Please! Don’t tell anyone!” she nodded. “Not even Liam!”
“I won’t! I promise you!” I nodded. We got out from the car. She came closer to me. “Wait! We don’t want Louis making any questions about your crying face.” She cleaned my face and then she smiled. I smiled softly.
“Thank you!” she kissed my forehead.
“I’m your best friend. It’s my job to keep you on track.” My best friend? I nodded once. WE walked to the door, I lifted my arm to knock the door but she grabbed my hand. I looked to her with a confused expression. “You have the keys in your purse.” I sighed and nodded. Of course I had. My house, right? I opened the door.
“Ohhh! You loser. You made me lose. Bastard! You dick!”
“Niall stop swearing!” Liam said. My heart racing and my hands shaking again. I was about to meet them, all of them.
“Life is a bitch, leprechaun!” Louis!
“Don’t call me that. You know I hate!” they were screaming at each other.
“Boys!” Harry screamed with that raspy and slow voice of him.
“Ready?” I took a deep breath. We went to the living room. “Hello boys!” Danielle said. They looked at us smiling, but then they looked at the TV again. Louis got up.
“Hello babe!” he kissed me softly. I felt the skin under my cheeks burning at the touch.
“Hi!” I murmured. He smiled.
“Liam babe, it’s time to go!”
“One more game!” Zayn said. Danielle giggled.
“Zayn… We should go… All of us.” They looked to her. “I think Louis and Kate want to be alone.” I looked at her in pure shock. She smiled. Danielle please! I wished that she could read my thoughts, because I’m killing her. I don’t want to be alone with Louis. I want.
