“Kate? Danielle is here!” I took a deep breath. I was about to meet someone that I only had seen in pictures and on TV. I don’t know if I’m ready for this. But if I don’t talk to anyone about this I’ll drive myself into madness. I took a deep breath again, and looked at myself in the mirror. I’m not me anymore. Hair lighter and brighter, longer and curled. My face more tanned than I remember more adult. How old am I anyway? “Kate?” Louis called my name again. I can’t get used to that. I just can’t. I went downstairs. He was outside talking to her through the window. I walked to them slowly. What am I supposed to do? Louis looked at me and smiled softly. Danielle smiled too. I half-smiled to them. “So, see you tonight babe” I sighed. He tilted his face to kiss me but I dodged it and he ended up leaving a soft kiss on my cheek. “Bye!” I entered in the car. Danielle looked at me, she had a worried look. I was feeling like a little girl on her first day of school. This is new to me.
“Where are we going?” I looked to her and I saw her smiling.
“The same place as usual.” What place? I didn’t talked much in that little drive to the ‘same place’, whatever that means. She parked and I got out from the car. I waited for her, because I didn’t know what to do, I’m lost. She placed herself beside me and I followed her. We went to a place called ‘Rapha CC’ and I recognize this place. I used to come here with my mom. I miss her. I want my mommy back. She sat in the back of the coffee shop and I sat in front of her. She looked at me maybe waiting for me to talk. But the thing is I don’t’ know what to say. “You look different today”
“That’s because I am different” I whispered for myself.
“What’s wrong with you love?” I looked at my hands. I shrugged. “You can talk to me… you know that!” Do I? I looked to her.
“We are friends?” she furrowed her eyebrows.
“Ahm… yeah!” Maybe I can talk to her, maybe I can trust her.
“Good Morning!” a waitress approach us and smiled. We ordered and she walked away.
“Come on, talk to me!” I sighed.
“This morning I woke up and I was married with Louis Tomlinson and had a daughter with 3 years.”
“Well, you are married with Louis since 2012…”
“What year is this?” She was in shock.
“2015! What’s wrong?”
“This is not my life.”
“Yes it is, Kate!” She is so determined.
“No, you don’t understand…”I felt the tears forming in my eyes. “I’m 18!”
“Kate, no love, you’re 23” I took a deep breath and I passed my hands through my hair.
“I don’t remember any of it…”
“How is that possible?”
“I don’t know… Last night I had a different life, I was 18 and my parents were in bedroom next to mine. Today I woke up and I wasn’t in my room and I had Louis drinking water in my kitchen and a baby little girl calling me mommy.” The tears were falling. She grabbed my hand and caressed her. “And I looked through my contacts but I didn’t find my parents number and instead I found plenty of numbers and people I don’t know.” She had a terrifying look in her face but it was a concerned look too. “Do you know where I can find my parents?” She gasped.
“Love, your parents died in a plane crash last year…”
“It can’t be… my mom gave me a good night kiss last night…” the tears still falling.
“But, maybe it was a dream… Because this is your life.”
“This is true?”
“Yes.”
“But my mom…” she caressed my hand. “I’m pretty sure that I didn’t dream about last night… she was there. And how can’t I remember any of this?”
“I don’t know. But this is true. But tell me about this other life of yours.” I cleaned my tears.
“I was eighteen. Ahm… I was in college but I still lived with my parents… they moved with me.” the waitress brought us our orders. “And was obsessed with one direction and I used to wish for a chance to know them.” She smiled softly. “And now I’m here. Same name, same eyes. Older face. Brighter hair. And I’m married with Louis.”
“So you were a fan in other life?” I nodded. “I can tell you, that Louis loves you. A lot. And you two are pretty happy and cute together. And Silver… you love Silver with your life.” I sighed and nodded.
“I might need help to remember or at least know this things… you can help me?” she smiled.
“Of course I can help you. I’m here for you.” I nodded.
“I need to find my parents.” She sighed but nodded. “And do I have a job?”
“Damn right, darling. You are the editor chef of the vogue magazine!” I widened my eyes. She laughed. I half-smiled. Of course I am. This is going to be difficult.
