The song is Confident by Demi Lovato cause Grace is obviously confident. Too confident actually.
So you say I'm complicated
That I must be out of my mind
But you had me underrated
What's wrong with being?
What's wrong with being?
What's wrong with being confident?
......"What are you doing here?" he asked, with his piercing blue eyes staring at me intensely.
Act cool, Grace. Act cool. He is just a guy. Pfft. Just a guy? He is the...wait. What am I even thinking? Act like you always do. Innocently rude.
"I'm meeting my brother. Why? Is it a crime?" I said then crossed my hands across my chess.
"Right. Because your brother would really need frogs in his locker." He said sarcastically.
"Whatever." I said rudely then turned my back on him before walking away from him.
It's not like he would catch up, right? I mean, he is not properly dress-sorry, not even dress yet and there are frogs on the floor which I'm pretty sure he is afraid of? If he is not scared of the frog, why would he jump? He must've-
Grace felt a slight tugging on her t-shirt collar but she ignore it. Thinking it was nothing and continued walking. Then she felt the tugging get rougher, making her stumble backward and fell flat on her butt.
"Ouch!" I whined. I heard his laughter behind me.
Jerk.
Grace quickly get up and started to walk away. But once again, he tug the collar of her t-shirt, hauling her to a stop. Grace turned back to look at him grudgingly.
"What the hell, man!?" I almost shouted angrily.
"What the hell? Really? You, a girl in a boys locker room, releasing frogs in Trent's locker but end up on the floor. Claiming you are seeing your brother. Still you asked me 'what the hell'!?" He almost shouted in anger.
"What is this? A trial? Listing my crime? For your information, I did see my brother just now. Accidentally." I said, annoyed.
"Right."
"Whatever. I don't expect you to believe in me anyway. By the way, goodbye." I said then turning back from him before walking away.
Just when I think he is going to let it go, he grabbed my hands then shoved me into one of the locker.
"Hey! Get me out of here!" I screamed out.
"You are not going anywhere, missy." I heard him said it before I saw his back retreating from the locker.
Bastardo!
Oh, gosh! What have I done?
.......
I never thought to start the day- no, almost the end of the day like this.
If I recall the last few hours before the tragedy happened, I'm pretty sure I felt my heart goes thumpeythump. Everytime I felt that, it's a sign something good or bad is happening. In this case, it was a bad thing.
Because here I am, sitting on the squeaky wooden chair, staring at the picture with engraved golden frame of a laughing old man with a young boy sitting on his lap with an ice cream tightly grip in his right hand and sticking his tongue out. The boy look goofy and full of mischief. But the expression that I get from his grown-up face now is a mix of anger, tiredness and a hint of mischief which is a real terror for a young and innocent girl like me.
