Alex was driving too, but he didn't know where he was going. Away from the fake death scene was all he could think of. The only problem was that Alex was lost and the guys were headed to the place he wanted to escape.

"Nick, you alright?"

Nick opened his eyes to see that the blankets were all pulled away from his face.

"Y-Yeah, Bob... I-I'm fine."

"Good! We're almost at the fake death scene and we need details from the police. But we can't necessarily let them see you, because you're everyone's main target. The Russian government's super homophobic, ya know, so I don't think they'd be too cool with you being Alex's pudding cup."

Nick nodded, trying to process exactly what Bob had told him.

"You seem really out of it, Nick."

Nick nodded again, pulling a few blankets closer.

After a few minutes of silence, Klav pulled over. Police cars crowded an area of a metal fence where Alex presumably jumped off a cliff.

"Let's be nonchalant about this. Come on, guys." Klav suggested. Bob, Paul, and Valentin hopped out of the car and walked off towards the police cars.

Doors slammed. Nick flopped down on the backseat.

//NICK//: Alex, are you alive?
//ALEX//: This number has been deactivated.
//NICK//: Alex please I'm using my real number for you and not the fake text app one
//ALEX//: This number has been deactivated.
//NICK//: I know it's you

Nick's plan was failing. Something was going horribly wrong, but he couldn't pinpoint what it was. He just wanted to be safe, with Alex, back home, like nothing had ever happened. But Alex still hadn't apologized.

//VALENTIN//: no one has found any evidence of Alex's death, but they're still looking. some people also assume it's fake, hopefully, but who knows??

//NICK//: thanks, Val.

//VALENTIN//: we're trying to get information, but the situation is pretty much confidential. but the police tested some blood found on the ground and it was confirmed as Alex. so who knows??

Nick laughed quietly. Valentin wasn't very good at texting.

//NICK//: does anyone think he's alive out there??

//VALENTIN//: yeah, us, a couple cops

//NICK//: Alex is so... problematic... but like at the same time I like him a lot n want him to Continue Existence

//VALENTIN//: Nick, you are much better off without him, well, until he apologizes and learns what's not okay to do, so, until then, you should stay with us or the guys.

Oh, the irony, as I am stranded, freezing, paralyzed, in a car in the middle of rural Russia.

Nick sighed, looking out the window, hoping to see one of his friends coming back. Sadly, they were all still investigating. Once again, Nick was turning into the support group.

Alex was driving once again down another lonely highway, trying to find a way out of Russia. The best way was probably to just head back to Alaska, since Alex was only twelve hours from the border.

Yeah, only twelve hours. Well, whatever, time hasn't necessarily existed since we left. It's just been like, oh, 3 AM again. Gotta get on he next flight. It's stupid.

Alex turned on the radio. Soul Meets Body by Death Cab For Cutie was playing.

"If the silence takes you then I hope it takes me too..."
