"I love you, please, I swear I didn't do it! They were all just rumors, you have to believe me!" Cried Morgan, a girl who seemingly had the worst life of all time. Or maybe it was just her attitude that made it seem that way, who knows? "Your friends already showed me the proof. I know you sent those pictures to him. I can't stay with you knowing you've lied to me for so long." Replied David, Morgan's boyfriend of 2 months.... Well, ex boyfriend now. He didn't know for sure whether she had done it. Sure, the evidence was pointing toward it, but there wasn't any proof. Just a few blurry screenshots of some Facebook messages that her friends had sent him. But he was looking for an excuse to break up with her for a while anyway, so he took the opportunity when he saw it.
He broke her heart. She called him later, crying her heart out, begging him to take her back. "Please, I'll never find another guy that cares about me like you do. I need you." David didn't care for her feelings at all though. He dryly told her "No, I won't take you back, I'm moving on with my life." And hung up. He felt pretty good about his life around that time. Having her beg him, and flood him with constant compliments was definitely a self esteem boost. So he took to a dating website to find some more girls to flirt with. Once he got his account up and running, he was flooded with friend requests and profile views. He felt like a god for the first time in his life. He would talk to woman after woman, make them feel amazing and let them go, like they were nothing.
A few weeks later, he decided to stay the night at his friend Jon's house. They watched some Netflix for a while, but got bored of it pretty quickly. Jon noticed David playing a sort of Hot-or-Not esque game within the dating website on his phone. Jon was intrigued by it. He wasn't really into the whole dating scene, but like anyone, he knew what he found attractive, so he decided to play along. "yeah, she's pretty cute. Go to her profile, see what she's like." David agreed and went to her profile, because they were both much more interested in the personality of a girl than her looks. The girl had a fairly predictable set of interests, judging by the way she looked. Emo, stoner, Gamer, musician. That was exactly the type of person that they liked, minus the stoner thing. Something about emos were so hot. They hit the "heart" icon, and moved onto the next girl.
They went for a few hours just looking at hundreds of girls' profiles and tapping the heart or X button depending on their interests. By this time it was almost 5:00 AM, so Jon decided to head to bed. David continued to go through profiles until he found one girl. "Macy Rose" not only was she interested in a lot of the same things that he was, she was the most attractive girl he had seen all night. So he decided to actually message her instead of just tapping the heart and moving on, like he had with all the others. He picked one of the interests they had in common and started a conversation. "Fall out boy, nice!" He said. Little did he know, that this would be the beginning of something much, much bigger than he anticipated.
