EKIMU's P.O.V
Over the horizon of Okoto lies my forge, located on the heart of the great city of Artakha. While I'm working, I can appreciate the natural beauty of this paradise island, with the melodic singing of the Gukko birds fueling with joy the almost desolated streets of the city. At this time of the morning, most villager are still sleeping in their homes and the very few that populates the corners and the parks are simple traders setting up their shops or scaring those naughty Angaaki away of their food posts.
A mighty roar broke the city's quietness; a massive quake that shook the ground woke neighbors and terrified the Rahi that still roamed the cobblestone streets, stronger was my horror when I saw through my window what was really happening. With disbelief, I was witness of how a great beam of dark energy literally defragmented the island into its six core elements, with the village of stone as its epicenter.
"MAKUTA" I said at loud, my older brother had gone to the village of stone early in the morning, and if he still there. Without thinking it, I quickly left my forge, with my hammer still on my hand, and run into the nearby Rahi shop to take the first electric hawk I found to ride. The strong flapping noises prevented me from listen to the seller; I think I may have "borrowed" a recently sold hawk.
I didn't answer back, all that crosses on my mind right now was to find my brother and stop whatever is releasing that amount of power. During my flight I occasionally lowered my sight to the land; Okoto was trembling and changing, slowly turning into a twisted puzzle of landmasses, without any resembles of the beautiful paradise that was not long ago. I fear for the lives that may have been lost in this cataclysm.
What could have been a several days trip to the Village of stone, as minimum, were reduce to simple minutes riding the Energy hawk, whose speed knows no rival. Landing, however, was the real challenge, due to Energy beam; the tremors that hit the island were far more powerful and treacherous, with no place where the ground doesn't threaten to swallow me. As I get closer to the beam, an immense crater opened beneath me, I couldn't tell if the hawk was more scared than me, I could only assure that, if I don't act now, it was a matter of time for the entire island to be shattered.
I make my choice; I left the hawk, which flew with his great speed out of the scene before the force of the crater's winds sucked us both into the void. As I fall into the abyss, I push myself towards the shaking ground to quickly jump back to a more lowered ground, only the crater separate me from the beam of energy and its caster, this is definitely the work of...
"¡¡¡EKIMU!!!" shout a growling voice coming from the beam. The voice was throaty, almost beast like and yet, a cold feeling surge through my body after hearing that voice. "No, it can be no, not you..." I whisper to myself, I refuse to believe is him, I need to make sure of it and confront whoever is destroying the island.
I took distance, prepare my body and cleared my mind, took a deep breath and charge with all my speed, running into the crater. As I get closer into the edge, I make a powerful leap that blast me off across the abyss, and as I successfully landed on the other side. As obvious, the massive Power coming from the beam makes it impossible to me to keep myself standing at the least; I use all my will just into attempt to walk into it. As I get closer to the beam with every hard step, I come face to face with what now seems to be a burst of raw power coming from a villag...
"¡¡¡EKIMU, HELP ME!!!" he shout again as I can now see, clear as water, the cause of the beam. My heart crumbles into pieces.
"MAKUTA?" I scream, part of me still refuse to believe that my own brother was responsible for this madness. "WHAT DID YOU DO?"
"I'M SORRY, I WANTED T..." my brother was crumbling in pain. That strange mask he was wearing was casting more power that he could control, but something was wrong. I pounced over him with my Hammer, ready to knock that mask over my brother's face. As I strike with all my strength, Makuta stopped my hit with a huge force, I wasn't expected this kind of resistance from him, it's like if he wasn't to take it off. I tried to reach my brother in hopes to making him back into sanity, but instead he was forcing me into edge of the crater.
The energy coming from the mask was now affecting my orientation; I was starting to feel dizzy. As we both get closer to the Abyss, and with my strength fading away, I use what I got left to push Makuta away from me and as quick as I could, I tried again to knock his mask off. My trusty hammer guide all my range and desperation into one single blow that hit my brother's face with such an immeasurable force, I literally fell all sense of time in space around me stopped as a blinding light appear in front of me.
I couldn't see Makuta anymore; I couldn't feel my body or the sounds of nature surrounding me. I could only perceive six familiar, and yet, unknown silhouettes at the distance as a voice of authority and wisdom was announces their arrival. A bittersweet feeling hit me; it was my father, speaking from the beyond. His words were a reminder from my childhood, a lesson he told me about my past, my present and future. My role on this tale was to fail before my brother, now lost in a path of shadows, and over my fall, six mighty heroes will rise against evil on Okoto's darkest moments, restore my home and free my people. As the voice of my father fades, I whisper his message of hope to whoever could listen. I close my eyes, with hope burning in my chest and light guiding me in the dark, one final though crossed my mind: "the future begins here"
