Rookie Group Ranking By Physical Album Sales Shows Seventeen As Clear Winner

Seventeen may be the new K-pop group everyone will be talking about come the new year.

A ranking of physical album sales from 2015 posted on the Korean community site Pann revealed that Pledis Entertainment's rookie K-pop boy band Seventeen had sold the most physical albums in 2015 amongst all of the new K-pop idol groups.

Starship Entertainment's Monsta X and YG Entertainment's iKON came in second and third place respectively.

ith over 120,000 physical albums sold in 2015, Seventeen sold more than double the next closest competitor.
All of the groups included in the ranking debuted in 2015.

Lovelyz, Woollim Entertainment's new girl group, sold the most physical albums according to the ranking.

While Seventeen sold the most albums, newly debuted groups like iKON and JYP Entertainment's new girl group Twice also garnered attention for joining the top ten rookie sales ranking of 2015 despite debuting last month.

According to the list, the ranking of most sold albums in Korea this year from rookie groups goes as follows:

1. "Boys Be"- Seventeen (81,987)
2. "17 Carat"- Seventeen (43,147)
3. "Welcome Back (Half)" - iKON (36,045)
4. "Trespass" - Monsta X (33,861)
5. "Rush" - Monsta X (27,271)
6. "Top Secret" - UP10TION (15,005)
7. "Lovelyz8" - Lovelyz (11,750)
8. "Hi" - Lovelyz (10,509)
9. "The Story Begins" - Twice (10,412)
10. "Flower Bud" -GFriend (8,467)
The rankings are based on sales as of Oct. 30.
