Chapter 9: Now He Belongs To The World

He promised himself to stay awake. Awake for his KiBum. His eyes must be open, so he can admire his lover's beauty, even when he's unconscious; he's still as beautiful as ever. JongHyun wanted to see those feline eyes open, to see him awake. That's why he needed to be awake too.

But those medicines were killing him, his eyelids felt heavy. No matter how hard he tried, his eyes would shut one way or another.

The pain, the guilt, the tiredness. Everything was too much. Too much to handle, and he knows his body is giving up. He knows that, someday, he will leave his KiBum. He'll someday leave TaeMin, he'll someday leave MinHo.

But before he leaves, he must thank them.

Thank TaeMin for staying with him. Even when he almost gave up, TaeMin was there with his smile, saying you can do it, Hyung.

Thank MinHo for staying with KiBum. Making sure he was eating well, sleeping enough, healthy enough. Thank MinHo for keeping TaeMin sane.

He needs to stay awake for them, his family.

But those painkillers were making it impossible. Now he noticed that a side effect was slumber. Taking a nap won't hurt, right?

As if KiBum knew what he was planning, JongHyun heard something apart from his own thoughts. A voice way too familiar. Still weak, but it hand this bitchy tone. It could only be him. He looked up, only to be met by those feline eyes he longed for.

JongHyun doesn't know how on earth he managed to climb up in bed and hug his KiBum. Only God knows. But who cares, his KiBum is awake. He is awake!

Silent tears left his eyes. He isn't sure if he's crying out of joy or of fear. Because the mix of emotion he's having is beyond words. Kim KiBum is with him, right now, awake and breathing.

KiBum eventually wrapped his still weak arms around his Jjong's neck. He felt as overwhelmed as JongHyun, or even more.

"Why... you! I hate you, Jjong! Why didn't you... Tell me!" The younger boy sobbed. His dream came true, in a strange way, but it did come true. He was back in JongHyun's arms.

"I know, I'm sorry. Mianhe." He hugged him tighter; he doesn't want to let him go, not ever again. "I love you, Bummie. I love you so much."

"I love you too."

Four Months Later...

Kim JongHyun lay on his hospital bed as he, very amazed, watched how KiBum read a new magazine. A smile appeared on his face as he saw how KiBum's pout changed to a happy grin. He knows him very well; KiBum just saw something he wants.

"What is it?" He asked.

"This new IPhone case, it's so cute." KiBum turned the magazine over, so Jjong could see the cute phone accessory.

"You should get it."

"I know right."
