[Mariah]
He drove me home and said that he'd call me once he gets home. I agreed then went out of his car and then went back in.
Today wasn't so bad at all even though we 'unintentionally' opened up each other's past.
I feel bad now that I asked him that. I didn't know that he had a painful past... More painful than mine. Nothing could ever be more painful than losing someone you love in your life... And knowing that they are gone forever...
My thoughts were interrupted when my phone rang. I looked who it was and it was my Mom.
"Mom." I answered.
"Mariah, how you doing?" Mom asked.
"Good." I replied as I rolled my eyes. Seriously, I don't like her checking on me every week. It makes me feel like a kid even though I'm not anymore.
"I heard from your auntie that you did well on your first day of job." She said. "That's great to hear."
"How's dad? Is he okay?" I asked, changing the topic.
Then there was a long silence on the other end of the line and it bothered me. "Mom? Are you still there?"
"Uh... Yeah. Yeah."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. And your dad's okay. He's fine. He's just busy at work nowadays so Tara and I don't see him that much."
I smiled when I heard Tara's name. She's my one and only cute little sister. She's 5 years old. "How's Tara?" I asked.
Mom chuckled, "Oh... If you only knew. She misses you so much!" She exclaimed. "She wants you to come home already. When are you coming back anyway?"
"Maybe after my probationary period at work." I replied. Like hello?! I just started my work then I'll take a vacation already?! Well, it's just three months anyway so I guess it'll be over before I knew it.
"Made any new friends there yet?" She asked.
"Yeah. The people here are very nice Mom so you don't need to worry. I'm okay."
"Okay. I gotta go now. I'll call you next week."
"Okay. Bye."
"Bye."
Then I hung up. I went to my room and change into my house clothes then I went back to the living room and sat on the couch and turned the television on. I flicked through the channels and there were no good t.v. shows so I've decided to watch a movie from my Terrabyte (A storage device that you connect to your television)
I was halfway in choosing from the movies when my phone rang. I looked who it was and my heart throbbed once again as for it was Zach, calling.
I answered it, trying to hide the excitement in my voice. "Hey Zach." I said.
"Hey Mariah." He replied. "What's up?"
"Nothing much. Just choosing movies to watch in my Terrabyte. How about you?"
"Just chilling out in the terrace while on Twitter."
"Okay... Um, Zach, I'm really sorry."
"For what?"
"For asking you that question a while ago in the park. I knew I shouldn't have---."
"Mariah, it's okay. And besides, I felt lighter when I've opened up to you. In fact, I've never opened up to anyone like that yet... Not even to my band mates."
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah. You're the only person whom I've told my deepest feelings. I don't know why but at that moment, I just feel like telling you what's been welling up inside of me."
Wow. Me? I feel like fainting now...
Oh my god... I never knew that he had already trusted me that much. I mean, we're just starting to be friends and then he suddenly puts too much trust in me.
"Thank you Zach for trusting me with your feelings." I said humbly.
"No problem. I really need a good listener right now and luckily I met you and you are, by the way, a good listener."
"Thanks."
"Um... Hey, what's your Twitter name? I'll follow you."
"It's MHaleyCarter."
"Haley? Where did you get the name Haley?"
"Oh... That's my middle name. Mom got it from her childhood best friend."
"Oh okay. But the name 'Mariah' suits you more better."
I giggled and so he did too.
"William and the other guys wanted to meet you." Zach said. "Do you want to come over next week? Thursday?"
"But I've got work."
"That's no big deal. You can sleepover then I'll just drive you to work."
"Are you sure? And is it okay with the other guys?"
"Of course! And they would love the idea of you staying overnight. So... Please?"
I giggled and I can already imagine that he's kneeling on the floor, doing the puppy eyes.
"Okay. I'll come over." I replied.
"Yay! So I'll pick you up after work next week?" he said.
"Cool."
"What time do you finish?"
"At three o'clock."
"Okay. So I'll pick you up at three?"
"Yep. Cool."
"Sweet."
"Hey Zach, dinner's ready." I heard Julian's voice in the background.
"Okay. Mariah, gotta go. Talk to ya later."
"Okay. Bye."
"Bye."
Then we both hung up and then turned my attention back to the movie selection and chose World War Z. But as I watched it, my mind wandered off to Zach.
