The home that two boys shared, empty. The kitchen table and chairs still there, collecting dust. Old lamps and sofas are covered in canvas. Broken and aged picture frames lie on the floor, photos still in them. The boys on vacation, on tour with their three friends, even one with their parents.

They left this place a while ago. Not by choice. They said they would live there forever; and they did. Until the end.

One last photo sat proper on the side table next to the front door, the last thing that was touched in the home. Two older men, each with their arms around each other shoulders, with their friends, family and kids; smiling like there was no tomorrow, not knowing that it would be their last picture before one of them left this earth, leaving the other alone, but not for long. Within a year, they were together again, in a place where they will be happy.

Leaving their loved ones behind, they were missed; but also were remembered for inspiring others and living the way they wanted.

“There is a house built out of stone

Wooden floors, walls and window sills…

Tables and chairs worn by all of the dust..

This is a place where I don’t feel alone

This is a place where I feel at home….

Cause, I built a home

for you

for me,

And now, it’s time to leave and turn to dust…”
