We were brutally shoved out of the boat, after days on the sea although I did hear some people say Middle Passage well I don't know. They were yelling and shoving until we were inside. Once we were we were told to get into a single file line, as did as I was told and joined the line. Suddenly I was pushed to the front and onto a podium, I was puzzled by what was happening.

"First in the auction we have a young woman. How old are you?" He said starting to look at me.

"Sixteen today, I think."

"Name."

"Kaluwa, it means forgotten one."

"Bidding will start at 80 dollars" He said ignoring my reply.

They yelled numbers and cursed at each other for what seemed like hours and I wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention until I was pushed of the podium, and a middle aged man tied a rope between my handcuffs and dragged me. I blacked out but the next thing I know is that I was in a small hut with 5 others.
