"OK, Jake. Could you please explain this from the beginning?" Kit asks, taking a seat on the black leather couch. Ari takes a seat on his lap. Jake rolls his eyes in mock exasperation. To him, this is typical behavior for the goth girl and the cat-boy. The two couldn't keep their hands off each other for more than 5 seconds.

'Then again, I do know how Ari is. We did date for a while. Best few months of my life.' Jake thought to himself with a grin.

"Alright, Sylvester. If you must know, I got these powers from the spider that bit me while on that field trip we were on." Jake says, earning a mock glare from Kit for the "Sylvester" joke. Jake has a habit of calling Kit various fictional feline names. Kit takes it all in stride though. He knows that Jake has nothing against his mutant background. Besides, insults between Jake, Kit, and Ari are practically like punctuation in sentences.

"But how come we didn't see the spider bite you?" Ari pipes up.

"Mostly because you and Garfield right there were playing tonsil hockey in the corner of the lab." Jake replies, causing Kit to throw an empty can at him. Jake catches the can in midair and sets it on the table.

"So, what are you going to do now? Are you going to tell Peter?" Ari asks. Jake rolls his eyes.

"Nope. Petey's already has enough on his plate. He doesn't need to know that his cousin got some freaky skills. All I know is that if Flash Thompson tries something, he'll regret it." He says.

"Tone it down there, Itsy-Bitsy Spider. Go climb up a waterspout to calm down." Kit says playfully. Jake's eye twitches slightly at the nickname.

"Laugh it up, Felix. Oh, and just so you know, I'm not so itsy-bitsy where it counts. Ari can attest to that." Jake replies, giving a suggestive wink towards Ari, making her blush a radiant red. Kit growls lowly and moves Ari off his lap, getting up to look Jake in the eye.

"Take that back, Arach-Nerd."

"Make me, Puddy Tat." And with that, Kit and Jake begin to get into a name calling contest, each name more vulgar than the last. Ari watches from the couch, smiling in amusement.

"Looks like things are gonna get a lot more interesting." She muses aloud, watching as the name calling contest devolve into a wrestling match.

'Boys will be boys, after all.' She thinks to herself as she continues to watch Jake and Kit wrestle.
