Jessie's POV
I laid in bed pretty much all afternoon, and what am I doing right now? Laying in bed. Mama won't let me get up, apparently 'I've lost too much energy running back and forth from the bathroom to my bedroom', or so she put it.
It's not that I mind laying in bed all day, but everyone is treating me like I'm dying or diseased, I don't even get to see my friends again, but then again, their respectful families wouldn't want them hanging around a pregnant teenager. Yet, my boyfriend and his parents are the only people besides my family that I've seen from the outside world. I feel like everyone is shutting me away to hide their embarrassment; though I don't blame them.
Narvel POV
Shelby was coming over for a visit, he hasn't talk to Jessie much since he was told about her condition, which he didn't have much to say about. I don't know if he'll behave, but I trust that he loves his sister enough to forgive her and get past this for everyone's sake, I know Reba is a nervous wreck about this.Reba POV
I just gave Jessie some soup and crackers with a glass of water to calm her stomach, poor thing, I think our next step is to go back to the doctor and see if there is anything we can do to help with the morning sickness, its become an all day occupance. Maybe things have changed since my pregnancies?I heard a car pull up in the drive way and it wasn't Daniel surprisingly, it was Shelby. Now my nerves were shot, I really hope that he doesn't treat Jessie any different, she's already had her face share of that.
General POV
Shelby slid out the drivers seat and was quickly greeted by his parents...along with Jessie standing awkwardly behind them. She was focused on the ground, not him, anything but him. Jessie hated disappointing anyone, especially her big brother. Shelby slowly slid past his parents and up to Jessie "Hey." He shrugged casually, he gave her his goofy grin that he acquired from Narvel. "Hi," she replied nervously, noticing Shelby's fixation on her swollen stomach. "So, um..." Shelby trailed off, not quite sure where to go with the conversation. "Yeah...." Jessie looked down, having the same thoughts as Shelby. Reba and Narvel we're standing in the background holding their breath, praying things wouldn't get ugly; Jessie and Shelby always had smart mouthes towards each other. "You look good," scratching the back of his head as he gestured towards her. "Thanks?" not quite sure what he was expecting her to look like. "I'm gonna go check on the food." Jessie made her eacape, but not before Shelby called after her. Turning around, Jessie nodded her head, indicating that he had her attention. "I don't want things to be like this towards each other. Can things be like normal...minus the wrestling?", trying to lighten the mood, doing a pretty good job if he did say so himself. "Sure, that'd be so much easier than this," referring to their current discussion as soon as he arrived.Shelby gave her a small nod and walked towards the house, they both left their parents in a state of relief once they both realized that this may not go as badly as they had hoped.
Reba POV
Thank the Lord! I know my kids enough to say that they wouldn't intentionally hurt each other in a time of need, yet this was a big shock. I'm proud of my son for making sure that his sister was going to be comfortable in his presence and making and effort to actually lighten her mood with his silly attitude that he totally get from me, if I do say so myself.
