Cassandra
I curled up into the seat and took out my favorite book to make me look busy. While waiting for the train to start moving. The amount of Sixteen year olds on the train doubled in the amount of time I got onto the train. The seat beside me remained empty for what I felt as a decent amount of time. My luck ran out as quickly as the seats in the train did. A small female voice filled my ears. She was asking if she could sit beside me. Without looking up at her I nodded my head. A small and exhausted sigh comes from beside me as she sits down. I smile at this. My guesses I wasn't the only Sixteen to get rushed by my family.
The train starts moving I can feel the speed of the train get faster and faster. I get curious of the girl that is sitting beside me. I put my book away and take a quick glance at her. She is short with fair skin, her hair is short and chopped close to her head. She must have been looking for a cute short bob haircut. I look back to the chair in front of me. In a small voice that is barley a whisper I say. "Hello." I feel the girl beside me twitch wether deciding if she heard me or not. I clear my throughout and say it louder for a second time. I feel her eyes on me now. I look over and see her smiling at me. "Hi, my name is Tala. What is yours?" she asks in a rushed voice as if she were holding it in for the longest time.
"Cassandra." I say blushing a little at my shyness. The conversation is the usual conversion that I would have with my brother. We tell each other what we like and don't like. By the time we get to the next stop to pick up more Sixteens we have become like close sisters. Since I have never had a sister in my family. I will give you a small piece of my conversation with Tala.
"What is your favorite color?" Tala asks
"Purple. But not the regular purple more like a sunrise purple." I reply
"Oooo. that is a pretty purple."
"Thank you." I shrink a little in my seat and blush. I have never had someone to talk to about what I like. After a minute of silence I ask her "What is your favorite color?"
"Blue. but not the regular blue it is the electric blue."
"Thats cool." The conversation keeps on like this for a short while till we have enough information to know the basic understanding of each other. After a awhile we both got tired of talking and fell asleep in our chairs. The train ride to the school was longer than what we had normally thought it was. The train stopped several times in different places to gather more Sixteens on the train.
Around morning the next day the intercom comes on. "The next stop we are taking will be your departure off this train. There will be breakfast and dorm room listings when you get to the stop. Hope you have a good rest of your travel with us." After the intercom went off the whole train starts in a uproar of excitement. Some of the Sixteens were yelling and others were just being plain silly. Tala and I remained silent and stared out the window. It was pitch black so there was only our reflections to stare at. I drifted off to sleep for the last few minutes of the journey.
I awake to the sound of everyone around me getting up and gathering their belongings. I get up and collect my book that I had not notice had dropped to the floor during my conversation with Tala. i look over to were Tala had been sitting and see that she had already left to train. I slip out of the train and onto the platform. The School looked like a big castle out of a dark movie. The soft illumination of lanterns down the sidewalks and to the many entrances of the school. I could see the dorms off in the background a little ways off from the school. I couldn't see Tala through the crowd. Then I heard my name being called. I turned around to find the source when I accidentally bumped into a guy. He was taller than me with dark blue eyes and soft brown hair.
"sorry." I squeaked. His eyes met mine and I instantly relaxed. His eyes were kind and not mean and rude like most of the Sixteens that had passed me before. He smiled and before he could reply I was being dragged away by Tala.
