Sara’s POV (First Person)
My eyes slowly opened and everything around me blurred for a second before clearing. Where… Where am I? But then a little bit came back to me, making my head hurt. Oh… Oh wow. I rubbed my forehead and felt a gauze bandage over it. Wait… how did I get this… Oh, that’s right…
Dan.
“Hello?” I called, my eyes widening when I remembered what happened fully. Sofia… She went for Dan. “Hello?!” I repeated, getting more worried. No one came and I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, ripping out IV’s that were plunged into my arm. “Hello?!” Am I still there? Did I get out? Where am I?! WHERE AM I?! Everything spun around me as I got to my feet, stumbling around as I tried to get to the door. “HELLO?!” What happened? “Where’s Dan?” I called, trying the doorknob, but finding it locked. Why is it locked?! WHY AM I STUCK HERE? “Dan!!” I yelled, banging on the door. “Pj!! Anyone!” I heard a soft chuckle and whirled around, my stomach dropping when I saw Sofia standing near my bed, twirling a knife in her hand, the tip spinning against her fingertip.
“Thought you could leave, eh? Though you could save Dan? Pj?”
“Where are they?” I asked, tears falling from my eyes as I stepped towards her, my paper gown crinkling against my body, “Where’s everyone?”
She just laughed again, her brown hair bouncing a little, “Oh, they’re all gone, sweetheart. Dan and Pj… Well… they were disposed of. But as for the rest… they traded you in for their lives.” I shook my head, speechless. No. They wouldn’t do that. They wouldn’t. “After how you betrayed them… They didn’t want to see your face again… so… when we presented them with the deal, they gladly took it.” She took a couple steps closer to me, making my heart pound. I tried to step back, but my feet were glued to the ground, “They left you, Sara. They didn’t care about you. They hate you.” She gazed at the knife in her hands before plunging it into my stomach, twisting it painfully as tears fell from my eyes. She pulled the knife out and I collapsed to the ground, everything going dark.
“No!” I screamed painfully. They couldn’t leave me. They wouldn’t. The ground below me disappeared and I was falling endlessly. All of the heat form my body gone. “Nooo!”
~*~*~
I sat up fast and was met with a darkness, my limbs trembling as I clutched at my stomach, a scream ripping through me. I betrayed them. It’s my fault. My fault. Dan’s dead. Pj’s dead. All my fault. I killed them. I did it.
No. Nonononono.
“Sara, Sara Kendall! Can you hear me?” I pulled away, everything sore.
“Get away from me!” I kept my eyes closed, scared of what I’ll see. Scared of the people. Sofia. She’s still here. She’s coming for me. I pulled farther away and grunted as I landed on the floor, the sound of things falling over echoing around me. “Go away, go away, go away!” I begged, putting my head in my hands as I brought my knee’s to my chest, “Go away, go away, go away, go away..” I muttered over and over again. Hoping they’d listen. Hoping they’d just let me go.
I want to go home. I want to go home.
“Sara… Sara, it’s okay. Just calm down.” I froze at the sound of his voice and risked opening my eyes, a new wave of tears falling from them as Pj’s emerald eyes stared into mine.
“Pj… Y-you’re alive.” I breathed, wrapping my arms around his torso and pressing my face into his chest, holding him tight. “I was so scared. I thought I lost you. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry. So sor-ry. I didn’t mean it. I was so scared. I didn’t mean too.”
