Janet sucked the remains of ice cream sliding down her spoon, the sweet taste of vanilla soothing her tastebuds as she stepped off the escalator, beside Gale.
"I wanna see the hot guy again." Gale laughed, her mind racing with images of the man at Broadway yesterday night, his sharp dimple and bold white teeth.
Janet looked up to Gale, her cheeks flushing with anger. Perhaps Janet was attempting to steal her man? No, she wouldn't dare.
"Yeah." Janet responded, her thoughts tangling.
He's mine. Their thoughts concluded in sync.
Gale walked out of the station, beside Janet at the bus stop. In her hand a hot chocolate, medium regular, in which she'd often bring to her lips, taking small sips to protect herself from the burning temperature."Oh my god look it's the skeleton hat guy!" Gale exclaimed in a whisper, discretely pointing towards the man from yesterday, the man who scolded them, telling them to go home.
Something about the way his eyes glimmered in the light caught both of their attention. His assumed bald covered by a Gap hat, skeletons imprinted all over it. He stood, his back slightly arched as he pushed his back into floor sweeper.
They stared at him working hard, his muscles flexing under his tight vest. His dominance was to their approval, the way he'd order them home. It was alluring.
"Oh my god." Janet giggled, her eyes stuck on him, the man with the dimple no longer stained her thoughts. Janet tightened her grip on the spoon with her mouth. Gales lips pressed against the cup, running them along the rim.
He began to walk away, to their dismay. Gale instantly changed her mind, turning to Janet.
"I wanna find the dimple guy!" she exclaimed, almost as if she was concealing her admiration towards skeleton hat guy.
Janet nodded once, her eyes following the floor sweeper.
Minutes passed, casual conversation flowing.
"Oh my god look!" Janet exclaimed, "He's over there can we walk past!" she pointed her finger at skeleton hat guy. Gale laughed, disapproval covering her face, yet she followed Janet over to him.
They walked past, somewhat discretely. He stood guarding the door, both hands dug into his pockets.
"Byeeeeee!" The man spoke in a higher tone, just as the girls passed him. Their body's froze, turning around to face him in horror. "Go home, yes?" he inclined, his face slightly amused. Gale nodded, chuckling quietly.
"Yeah we're going home." She laughed, turning around, Janet following behind her.
"Yes home now." He ordered, his voice calm, foreign.
The girls hurried away, their minds conflicted, perhaps they weren't in love with the dimple guy, maybe the skeleton hat guy had a stronger attraction.
They were assured.
