Chapter 1

I wake up to the sound of my damn alarm clock. Is holiday over already? No! Why can't it last a little longer? I guess its time for me to get up.

I turn off my alarm and attempt to get out of bed but fail. I don't feel like going back to that stupid school...wait a minute... I don't have to go back to that stupid school because...TODAY IS MY FIRST DAY AT COLLEGE!!

I'm kind of excited, I have a feeling its gonna be fun. Sure the college I'm going to is a bit far away from home and basically everything but that doesn't matter. I'll meet new people , make great friends and create amazing memories.

On the other hand, I'm also a bit scared. I have heard tons of stories about this college and not the good kind. Apparently people have seen strange things during their time there.....supernatural things.

I get out of bed and make my way to the bathroom. Yay! Its shower time. I love taking showers, they always seem to relax me, and right now, I definitely need the relaxation to ease my nerves

I turn on the shower before taking off my pajamas and then getting into the hot shower. That feels so good. I can already feel my body start to relax.

Once I am done cleaning myself as well as my hair, I hop out of the shower , wrap a towel around my body and another one around my hair before brushing my teeth.

When I finish up in the bathroom , I go back to my room and decide what to wear. A blue skinny jeans and a yellow tank top with black All Stars will have to do. I know I should probably make more of an effort in deciding what to wear, but I don't really feel the need to impress anyone even though its my first day at college.

I blow my hair , leaving it wavy, just the way I like it. With one last look in the mirror , I make my way downstairs and head into the kitchen where I make myself some coffee. I'm not really a breakfast person, the only thing I need to get my day started is a cup of coffee.

"Morning sweety, are you ready for your first day at college" I hear my mum say from the doorway of the kitchen.

She is dressed in an elegant blue dress that reaches her knees and not an inch of her face was left without makeup. She always seemed to have make up on. I don't think I have ever seen her without any on her face. For some reason she always feels the need to look fancy, even if we are just going to lounge around in the house all day.

I give her a friendly smile before saying " I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I'm really gonna miss you mum."

"Don't worry Katherine, I'll see you in a few months time" she says with a warm smile on her face." Have you got all your luggage?"

"Yep, its all next to the front door." I say nodding in the direction of my luggage.

As I finish my coffee, I hear the hooter of a car coming from outside. I guess that's my cab. I'm a bit sad that my mum couldn't drive me to the college, it would be nice to spend a few more hours with her, but sadly she cannot drive.

"I guess I have to go now..." I say with a soft sigh.

Suddenly I felt my mother hugging me. "Please be careful." She said with a shaky voice. When she pulled away from our embrace, I could see tears start to make their way down her cheek.

"I'll call everyday okay." I tell her while walking towards my luggage and picking it up.

"Please don't forget to call. I know how forgetful you can be...bye honey" she said while waving . I say my one last goodbye and walk out the door closing it behind me.

I make my way to the cab where the driver is waiting to take my luggage so I hand him my suitcases and get in the back seat of the cab. The next thing I know, we are driving down the road, away from my house

While watching my house fade away in the distance, the thought of going to college actually sunk in. Oh my glob. I'M GOING TO COLLEGE! This doesn't feel real. How can the time fly by so quickly? I can still remember my first day of high school and now I'm going to college.

After about a half an hour I find myself falling in and out of consciousness. Eventually I let myself fall asleep, I figured there is no point in trying to stay awake since there is still another five hour drive ahead.

When I wake up we are still driving. How is this driver able to drive for hours non stop. "How much longer do do we have till we get to the college" I ask as politely as I can, but I still sound a bit sleepy.

"Not long , in a half an hour we should be there. You've been sleeping for quite a while." He says

"Yeah, I didn't really get any sleep last night because of all the excitement of going to college?" I say meaning every word. Its true, I haven't had much sleep last night. All I could think about was going to that college. Even though there are a lot of bad stories about that place, I don't care. I'm sure its all just myths anyway.

A half an hour later we are driving toward a giant building in the distance and I start to get nervous. What if people don't like me and I don't make any friends. I just need to calm down, I'm sure I'll make at least one friend.

A few moments later we are pulling up in front of the gigantic building. Oh no...here goes nothing...
