Till Death Do Us Part

Adorned in white from head to toe
As I walk down the aisle
I feel as though I'm going too slow
My bare feet padding on the tile

There you are beaming at me
The stairs take me up
I locked up my heart and gave you the key
You make a toast and I raise my cup

As cup joins with lip
Hesitating slightly before taking a sip
Liquid begins to flow
Not from my cup but from my torso

It came thick, hot, and red
A single thought crossed my mind
As I slowly bled
How could I be so blind?

You never wanted a wife
Even though you did love me
You wanted to adorn me with a knife
And so it shall be

Till death do us part
Those words seem rather tart
On my blood soaked lips
As I take one final sip

The light fading from your eyes
I have severed all ties
In this infernal knot
That you respected not
