Chapter 12

^that's Ashley^ ~ still Jade's POV

I've been in my cast for a month. My injury has become normal, tripping on my crutches, hanging out with jase during and sometimes after school. I hang out with Ashley and Jacob. The voices have mostly gone away but sometimes come back. This has become normal, my life. Its Friday yay! I love the weekend all I'll do is watch TV and stare at walls. Me and Jase were in PE talking and he said "I'm having a party this weekend please say your coming." "no I really shouldn't I'm not very social. Besides I'll just be lugging around my cast all night." I say. "it won't be that bad and I'll hang out with you all night." he says. "alright fine." I say. Then just like usual then final bell rings and we walk home. He has baseball practice so he drops me off and says. Don't forget Saturday night I'll see you there." before starting the walk to his house. I say. "Alright bye."

When I get into my bed room I text Ashley.
Me: are you going to Jase's party on Saturday
Ashley: yah me and conner are going to gether.
Me: well some how I got invited. me and you could get ready together
Ashley: alright I'll be at your house around six sound good
Me: alright see you then.

I watch TV until I fall asleep around ten o'clock. I wake up Saturday around eleven and head down stairs to the sweet smell of pancakes and bacon. I sit down at the breakfast bar. Mom says. "good morning sleepy head ready for some breakfast?" "mmm Smell's good pass me a plate." I say Tyler is already eating and mom is almost done making herself a plate. I start eating my pancakes once I get them. Me, mom, and Tyler all sit at the breakfast bar eating until mom says. "any plans for this's weekend anyone." Tyler says. "I'm going to the movies today with my friends today. And tomorrow I want to work on one of my books." "alright sounds good. What about you jade any plans besides watching TV?" "well I was invited to a party tonight. I'll just stay in the corner don't worry." I say. She says. "alright I'm gonna be cleaning the house all weekend." "alright." me and Tyler say. I finish my breakfast and go back up to my room to pick a outfit for the party. After going through my entire closet and deciding nothing goes with crutches and a cast. I choose a black dress sweater and white tights with black stars going down the side. After laying this out on my bed I go to shoes or shoe. I pick a black short boot with a inch heal. Then I decide I'll wear a necklace, a bracelet and earrings. I find my silver chain necklace with a little dancer and a flat square piece of silver that says DANCE on one side and JUST BECAUSE on the other. Jacob gave me this to me on our first compition together we were in 5th grade and thought it would be fun to do a tango in the competition. After we performed he gave me the necklace. I loved it so much and still do. When we found out we won that set us on the round to becoming one of the best teams in the U.S. I put on the necklace and looked in the mirror after a moment a single tear ran down my face. I'm miss dance. I realized I was crying and took the necklace off. I set back down in my jewelry box. I also found big hoop earrings and five plain silver bracelet's.

I really have nothing better to do so I finish my homework for the weekend. Then I listen to some music for a hour. by now its three so I text Jacob

Me: want to come over to my house I'll let u use my studio
Jacob: really thanks!
Me: no prob see u soon
Jacob: k thanks

In fifteen minutes Jacob rings the door bell and I met him in. "hey I've been locked up in this house forever thanks for coming over I needed something besides music, TV, and, homework." I say we start walking towards the studio. "no problem text me when ever your board and thanks for letting me use your studio I didn't want to be rude." he says. I say "come over when ever you want." by now we're at the door way to my dance studio Jacob steps in like its no big deal I put one foot over the line and it gets me at full power the voices, when I tore my muscle and broke broke my ankle, when I couldn't stand the voices and came down here to cry. I stop for a second and say "I haven't been in here in forever. I don't know if I should come in." "well you'll never now until you try your gonna have to get over your fear sometime." he says. "alright if I have to." I say. I slowly step in and look around. It looks foreign, a strange place I feel like I've never been in before. "alright what do you want to start with? I say. "how about I work in jazz and you can give me corrections. " he says. "OK let's get to work." I say. He dances and I watch until it 5:30 when I say "I've got to go me and Ashley were gonna hang out before Jase's Party tonight but you can stay as long as you like. Are you going to Jase's ?" "nah I've got some homework to do." he says. "me and you both know that's not true so come over it'll be fun." I say. I leave the room before he can say anything.

I head into my room and start laying things out for the party and turn on my TV. Ashley shows up at six Just like she said she would. "are you excited for the party?" Ashley says once she comes in. "more like nervous I've never gone to a party, there's my whole crutch thing, besides I'll probably just make a fool of myself" I say. "well at least try to have fun. " she says. were ready by eight. Ashley did a fishtail braid around my head and around the shoulder. Ashley wore a black mini skirt with dark red tights And a matching dark red lace crop top. We make our way down stairs say good bye to my mom and walk down the street.

Me and Jases have lived down the street from each other for years. Were just such different people we never hang out. When we get there the music is pounding and conner Ashley's boyfriend is waiting on the front porch we say hi and then Ashley and conner get lost in the party. So I decide to go find some random corner to hide in until two am. There's a few people outside so I sit down against the wall plug in my headphones which I brought in my purse and listen to music for awhile. I almost got away with it until 9:30 when Jases finds me and sits down next to me and says. "I don't blame you for coming out here it's insane in there." "well its alright I like looking at the stars while listening to music." I say while pulling out my headphones. We talk for a little bit until its ten and one of his friends tells him to come inside so he left and I went back to my own business. Soon after Jacob steps outside and I call him over. "hey Jacob over here. " "hey! whatcha doing out here thought you you would be having fun with your friends." he says. I say "well there's not that much I can do with my cast monster on. Ah also by the way I'm sorry if I was kinda mean earlier. Its just I've learned you have to take every opportunity you have and live before its all gone." he says "I understand you but its not that it's I don't want you to hurt yourself more. I've already somewhat lost you with your injury and I don't want it to get worse also I don't want you to leave me for Jases i already can't handle not dancing with you." "it'll be alright your my best friend I don't know what I'd do with nothing will change I promise" I say. "thanks I needed to hear that. He says. "no go have fun." I say. "alright I'll come check on you In awhile." he says. "I'll be here." I say.

I just keep playing my music starring at the stars a few people have come out but they don't notice me. I'm just invisible. Its almost eleven when Jases walks out and says hi. He sits down next me and says. "were you the girl new years eve? I heard, I think lia and selah talking about it." I'm shaking trying to look like it wasn't me I say "no you know me I would never do something like that." "really I think your lying." he says. I reply back "I'm sorry but no it wasn't me You may want it but no I didn't do it."

He leans into me to kiss me and I tell myself jade no! Your not this type of girl but I want I really do but instead I say. "dude I'm sorry but you've got to stop this." "I'm sorry I'll leave." he leaves back into the party and I call Ashley. I know she's only inside but practically the whole school is there so I just call she picks up and ask if we can and she says of course. So we then head back to my house.

We get in our Pajama's and go to bed. Last time Jases tried to kiss me I broke my ankle tonight I play music laying on my bed staring at the ceiling, crying. Ashley fell asleep so I just lay there alone.

On Sunday me and Ashley stay in bed eating and watching TV until she has to go. My normal life begins again homework, TV, food, Netflix, YouTube, Instagram. Basically waiting for Monday.
