I never believed in ghosts. I always thought they were make believe. Until I came face to face with one.Michael Clifford
Ashley's P.o.v
I was never someone who believed in anything. I was never religious but believed there was some kind of higher power watching over us. I never watched ghost shows or those stupid Paranormal Activity movies.
I was always different from everyone else in my family. My brother was a jock and played football and had a bunch of friends and was really popular throughout his whole life. I on the other hand had one best friend. Her name was Sam. I was never popular if anything i was quiet and kept to myself in high school. I mostly stayed in the music room, singing and playing piano and escaping into my own world.
Everything crashed down on me when my parents divorced 6 months ago. My mom caught my dad cheating and insisted me and her move somewhere in which she could be as far away from him as possible. We decided California was the best bet. Being from Canada it was weird to move to America as we did a lot of things differently and only some things the same.
We moved into an old Victorian house. It was very cheap for my mom to buy as the last owners in it died or something. I wasn't excited to move. I still had Sam though even though she lived in Boston it was nice to know i can always call her if things go wrong.
We pulled up to the big house as i saw the two moving trucks in the driveway, ready to move all of our things in. I glanced up at the house as i let out a long sigh and got out of my mom's car.
"Honey relax, its gonna be fun, just us girls living in this big beautiful house. Think positively please." My mom flashed me a smile as she rubbed my back. "Go ahead and go inside and pick out a room for yourself." She suggested as i nodded and walked up to the house and opened the front door.
Something was so creepy about this place. The atmosphere was very saddening and disturbing to me. I walked into the house as i felt a cool breeze hit me and i got chills. "Here we go." I mumbled to myself as i walked up the long spiral staircase that led me up to the bedrooms.
I decided to take the second biggest room. The walls were navy blue and there was big windows that brightened up the room that made it look very welcoming. I closed my eyes and let out a deep breath as i took it all in.
"Just moved in?" I heard a deep husky voice as i gasped and held my chest turning around to see a very tall pale boy with bright red hair. "Who are you?! How'd you get in my house?!" I glared at the boy crossing my arms as i watched him laugh at what i had just said.
"You left your front door open. Im Michael, i live next door." He smirked at me as i rolled my eyes and walked past him heading down the stairs. "Well Michael, you shouldn't just walk into a home you don't live in." I mumbled and grabbed a box as i felt a pair of hands take it from me.
"Here let me." He spoke softly as i heard a slight accent roll off of his tongue. "Thought you could use some help with the boxes." He smiled at me as i stared at him blankly. "Thanks i guess." I whispered and bit my lip as i grabbed another box and followed him up the stairs to my room.
I watched the red headed boy set another box down on my bed as he opened it and pulled out a picture frame.
"What's this?" He questioned as I rushed over and grabbed it from his hands. "Don't touch that!" I mumbled and held it close to my chest as a tear fell from my eye.
"I'm sorry I didn't know it meant a lot to you." He sighed and looked down at his feet.
"It's fine... It's just a p-photo of me and m-my brother.... He passed away 4 years ago..." I stuttered as I choked back the tears and glanced down at the photo running my fingers over my brothers face.
"I'm sorry if you want me to leave I gladly will.." I heard Michael say as he started to walk towards the door.
"No it's fine don't worry..." I mumbled and grabbed his arm gently as he glanced down at me and smiled slightly. I met his beautiful sea green eyes as I was captured in his gaze.
"Okay.." He whispered and bit his lower lip as he sat down on my bed.
"So what do you wanna do?" He questioned as I smirked and shook my head. "Kinda wanna unpack everything before I hang out with the stranger who sneaks into my new house." I chuckled as he gasped sarcastically.
"Ouch my heart, my soul." He held his hands to his chest as he pouted. I just shook my head and smiled. "You are such a drama queen aren't you?" I took some more things out of a box and set them on top of my dresser.
"Oh honey you don't know me yet." I heard him mutter as I looked at him and back at my things continuing to unpack.
What the hell does that mean? Is he some sort of badass your parents would hate or was he kidding?
"Hey you wanna see something cool?" He asked as he got up from my bed and grabbed my hand leading me downstairs towards the basement door.
"The basement? How is this cool?" I chuckled and rolled my eyes.
"It's haunted you know." He smirked a evil grin as it gave me the chills.
"Oh bullshit." I sighed and started to walk down the stairs as I heard the door close behind me and lock.
"Michael?" I looked back to see no one as I ran back up the stairs and tried to turn the knob but the door wouldn't open.
"Michael this isn't funny!" I yelled as I banged on the door. No use. I was trapped.
"He's gonna kill you, you know that right?" I heard a voice say as I froze in my spot too scared to turn around.
"Who said that.." I whispered as I felt a cold breath on my neck.
"I'm Luke. I'm dead. Wanna hook up?" I heard the voice say as I turned around and saw a tall boy sitting behind me on the stairs staring up at me. He had piercing blue eyes and a short dirty blonde quiff. As I stared as he chewed on his lip ring.
"What do you mean you're dead?" I whispered and started to shake. I felt like I was being pranked and I wanted it over.
"Oh baby girl you got a lot to learn about this place." He chuckled as he got up and stood inches from me as he stared into my green eyes. "And a lot to learn about Michael Clifford."
