I squeezed my way through the school hallway pushing a few students out of my way till I reached Riley at her locker keeping her books.
"Riley! You have no idea what the hell happened" I startled her and she glanced at me annoyingly as she dropped one of her books.
"Yeah now you come to me, did you know? I had to watch that Brooklyn Bitch make out with Carson through out lunch with Jared." she was upset of my sudden urge to get away from the café.
Riley has been best friends with me for almost two years. Her main feature was her eyes. She had the most beautiful blue eyes and a great body. Her status was an average four which is great because people rarely judge the fours. Jared is also one of my guy best friends but I was not as close with him compared to with Riley.
"I'm really sorry Riley, I just, I-I h-had" I stammered at the lost of words. What was I suppose to say? I was jealous of Brook and ran away.
"It's fine. Now what is in it with Carson just now?" She interrupted. My mouth hung low, shocked.
"You know you can't hide anything from me Elena, anyways almost everyone knew Carson was talking to you privately in the hallway. All the B1's blocked everyone from passing through that hallway and that jerk Dane blocked me from going to my locker. Do you know how heavy my bag was this whole day?" Riley sulked as she emptied her bag full of books.
I started to recall the incident before and then everything started to make sense. It wasn't fate that only both of us were in that hallway. That jerk Dane blocked students from their lockers so Carson could be alone with me. And all that fuss just to warn me to stay away from him? What is this some teenage vampire novel?. I told Riley everything about how Carson was behaving ever since lunch till the confrontation. She was ecstatic on how the school's bad boy had found me interesting. She said something about me being the main character in one of the books she read. We talked for a while more before parting ways and just when I was about to go home, something loathsome caught my eye. I always go by the back gate home since it was a shorter route if I had miss the bus. Then there at the alleyway, I saw Brook with her G1 gang with a few B1's surrounding a girl named Penny.
Penny was known as the loser in school. She was actually quite attractive for she had all the curves in the right place but was a total geek. She was quite poor and only ate granola bars in school during lunch. She was a nine and I did try to invite her for lunch a few months back but she shrugged it off saying it was ok when it wasn't. I almost screamed when I saw Brook pour milk all over her head. She was begging them to stop. Then I literally led out a piercing yell when one of the B1's took a cigarette and burned her arm.
"What the fuck do you guys think you're doing?!"Almost everyone turned towards me and I felt a sting of regret. I walked pass the guys and stood in front of Penny with my arms out wide, making a blocking position. Brooklyn stepped in front of me and gave me a scowl. I tried not to get intimidated and shifted my gaze around to see how many I was up against when I saw him leaning on the wall smoking and staring at me intensely. Shit it was Carson!.
"Well look at this bitch trying to stick her ugly ass in my business. Do you want me to remind you that you are a lowly five by doing something far worse than dumping your shit makeup?" She inched closer to me and my heart started racing at all the things that were going on.
Penny was in a crouching position, bawling her eyes out while milk drips from her hair, I'm here in a defensive position with eight people that were way off my league to mess with, Brook looked like she was about to rip me to shreds and Carson was staring at me intensely with the what-are-you-doing-here look. I could feel sweat trickling down my forehead as I was trying to think of my next move. I tried to open my mouth to speak but before I could utter a single word, Brook took another carton of milk and poured it on my head like she was pouring wine. I let out a loud gasp and muttered curse words under my breath. My outfit that Riley bought for me was completely drenched. My hair that I spent hours on were soaked with expired milk and the insides of my boots were drenched as well.
"Oh this is not over bitch! This is for staring at Car during lunch!" Her hands were in the air and at lightning speed I tried to cover my sticky cheeks from getting bruised and shut my eyes tight. When I felt nothing, I blinked my eyes open and saw Carson standing in front of me and holding on to Brook's risk, preventing her from slapping me. I let out a sigh for a moment but came back to reality when I realised the situation. Carson Collins stood up for me?!. There was a deafening silence and Carson broke it when he dragged my milk drenched self away from the group. We were far away from them now and Carson pinned me to a tree and grabbed hold of my sticky shoulders.
"I told you to stay away from me!" He looked furious as he eyeballed me. His expression wasn't soft anymore. I couldn't believe he was trying to relate everything to himself.
"It's not all about you Carson! I was defending Penny!" I reprimanded.
"Do you have a death wish from Brook? Do you not know how this school runs? Now look what you've made me do?" He rebuked.
"I didn't ask you to stand up for me! Why would you even do that? Doesn't it like go against the ones rules or something?" I wanted answers from him. On why he acted that way.
His face changed into confusion. He looked down on my appearance and studied the milk stains on my outfit. He took out a handkerchief from his back pocket and wiped the milk droplets on my cheeks then on my neck. My heart started pounding again and my face turned red. Why was he making me want him, tempting me to kiss him, making me like him again?. Then when I opened my mouth to say something, he finally spoke.
"Because I care for you Elena."
