With thunder dancing around her Athena Baywater's shallow breathing became deeper with every icy drop of rain splattering against her pale face. Her auburn curls were wet and the windows of her soul filled with fear. At this time Athena's white night gown was drenched with water as she was with fear. Her bare feet weren't used to walking on jagged surfaces, let alone running in the middle of the murky night.

Her soft feet that ran across twigs, stones and thorns, causing her to clench her fists tighter with every step she took, and that was the only thing keeping the attractive green-eyed girl from being victimized.

As Athena reached a tarred road she gave out a sigh of relief and her sprinting continued in the direction of what seems to be a safe haven. The dim light barely visible through the gloomy night sky, caused by the downpour, attracted Athena like a candle would attract a moth.

Athena's cold face is now disturbed by warm streams flowing down her cheeks. A sense of life returned to the streaks where the tears ran down her frozen winter face, but soon enough the mighty winds caused her face to become colder than it was before. Athena's sprint slowed down for a few seconds as her chest started to fire up.

By this time the discomfort in her chest initiated by her unfitness was unbearable and Athena slowed down to walk a bit. She was startled when the road in front of her lit up. Athena's hopes were raised when she turned around to see a pair of headlights crawling towards her. She ran to meet her rescue opportunity halfway.

Athena reached the vehicle when she first realized that she sprinted right into a trap. A heavily armed man grabbed her upper arm in an iron tight grip. The vulnerable girl tried to escape but the kidnapper twisted her arm while shoving her into a black SUV. Her blood freezing scream disappeared in another lightning flash very close-by and the spinning of old worn-out tyres.

Athena's mind was now sprinting. It processed her surroundings at the speed of light. Thoughts came and went but these questions kept lingering around in her head. Why me? What do they want from me? How could I escape? Athena thought about threatening them with the law over and over but she kept reminding herself that has no power since she is still a graduate student and besides, they do not care a rat's behind about the law.

One of the dark silhouettes tormenting Athena, while hiding his identity with a ski-mask, brought an injection into her line of sight. Athena let out another scream right before pleading them to let her go. Athena felt as if her cold, dripping wet body was giving off a scent of extreme anxiety. With horror in her eyes and distraught in her voice she lifted her hands trying to create a barrier between herself and the looming needle. She wished that it all was just a horrendous dream but to no avail. Her wish stayed a wish.

With no success the man grabbed her arms by the wrists with one hand and held them down. His other hand skewered the needle attached to the syringe filled with sleeping medicine into her neck. The drugs immediately started to kick in and it began by numbing her members, one by one. A cold sweat broke out on her forehead just as she came up with a theory about why she is being taken captive. The medicine was moments away from fully causing her to lose her conscious when she whispered in a very soft sluggish voice, "I am just the pawn..."

Athena was rudely awakened by shock waves traveling through her petite figure. Very confused she looked around her. Through the throbbing headache hammering against her skull Athena could make out the outlines of tall buildings, flashy lights and lots of people around her. Athena was dropped on a street corner in the capital city.

At first she did not quite realize why everyone was staring at her, but soon enough the winds blowing on her cold clothing reminded her. She was soaking wet, overwhelmed with fear and laid on the pavement of a busy street.

Athena pieced together a timeline of how long she was out cold. It did not take the clever law-student, still lying on her back, very long to figure out that she must have been out cold for at least 45-minutes as that is how long it takes for her to travel from her countryside cottage into the city.

She took a few more moments to fully regain balance and tried to stand up, but something was blocking her to bend at her waist. Athena frightfully tilted her head down to discover what was in her way. At first she did not realize what it was, but reality hit her like gigantic wave when she grasped what it was. Her heart dropped to her feet, her breathing stopped for a few seconds and the world around her began to spin faster and faster. A loud scream was building up inside her chest as her breathing became shallower by the second. Athena was experiencing an anxiety attack brought on by the latest turn in events. She stumbled towards a phone booth she spotted earlier on when she was contemplating her surroundings. Athena stuttered in a scream-cry-voice trying to explain to the emergency consultant, on the other end of the line, the danger she and the people around her are in.

"I was kidnapped by a few men... and... they strapped me in-into a suicidal-bo...bomb-vest!"
