Chapter 1❥ •Awards•

"Julia, I can't believe we made it this far, we made it to 8th grade!" I said with enthusiasm. "I know, I can't wait for awards to start!" Julia answered. While waiting to be dismissed off the bleachers, I joked with Julia by saying, "Julia, this may be the last time I ever see you." She faked cried by saying, "Sheridan, I know." We both laughed and headed to our classes. I was wearing a high low dress and Julia was wearing a really pretty purple and pink dress. Julia and I had the same AA class so we walked in together. Mrs. Meadows (our Character Ed teacher) started telling us to take a seat and get ready for the Television to turn on. Channel 1 News came on and we all watched making the time go by faster. Finally they called for the A honor role to head to the lobby. I got in line and I was between Ayrella Armentrout and Mattie Ballangee. (My last name was Ball) We were the first to go out. We headed in and took our seats on the floor. I saw my mom sitting beside Jordyn's mom. (Jordyn is one of my best friends) She waved and took pictures of me going to get my student council award and my certificate for A honor roll. Julia was B honor roll so that's why I couldn't sit with her. After awards, you had two options: stay at school and finish up the day, or go home. I don't know what Julia ever did but I came home. I was ready to get out of that place!
