Down Underneath?

Have you ever felt like you were worse than everyone else?

Beneath your casual demeanor you were so hurt and lost.

Everyone buys the story you sell.

Does anybody understand the real cost?

The pain it causes to hide how you feel.

No one understands that you need help.

It hurts so bad, you're now numb.

You can finally say "I'm used to it."

You feel so dumb.

For falling for her trick.

She was like a siren.

You fell for her, way to quick.

You feel like you're dying.

She stabs you in the back.

You want to die.

Her heart is black.

To everyone you see, you lie.

So underneath your calm exterior,

Is a person who's been hurt.

So back to the original question.

Have you ever felt like you were worse than everyone else?
