"I'm sorry, what?" I rambled, "You're upset because Clover likes you?"

"Yeah, a little," He frowned, "I knew her in freshman year. She was a total idiot!"

"Uh, yeah? How so?"

"She was just terrible. Fucked every guy in school. Tried to bang the teachers to bring her grades up. Ended up working for her in math class. Literally disgusting."

"Ahh... yikes."

Carl placed his head in his hands and sighed. My faced dropped from being slightly stressed to being completely upset for Carl. We walked out of the cell and headed down to the kitchen.

Carol was opening multiple cans of fruits, and some packages of expired cereal. The past few days we had the same thing. Stale cereal with powdered milk and canned fruit.

Knowing she had no choice, Clover ate it again and again. She always eyed me, even if I wasn't sitting next to Carl during the mornings or evenings. I'd become very close to lots of the people in the prison, and we all talked about going on a run together.

When I actually got to leave, I placed all my empty bags into the back seat of the SUV. I was self-taught at driving, as I had no one to teach me, because they were all dead. I got into the driver's seat with Beth in the passenger's seat along with Clover and Jade in the back seat.

"Bianca, you're supposed to put on your blinker," Clover stated snobbily.

"There's no one else here. There's literally Carl and Ben in front of us and no one behind us. There's no civilization around us for miles. I don't need to put my blinker on, Clover."

"Yeah. Whatever."

"If you're just mad at me because I'm friends with Carl you need to chill the fuck down. You're already in my no zone so if you want to end up in my I have no name for this zone because it's so bad then keep it up!"

"Okay, tough girl," She scoffed.

I winked at Beth and Beth winked at Jade, to let them know that I was about to slam on the breaks. I stomped my foot on the break as hard as I could and Clover hit her nose right on the passenger headrest.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Driver laws, you know?" I giggled.

She muttered a few words and acted if I hadn't heard them. Once we all arrived at the outskirts of Brookhaven, a town just outside of Atlanta, we each grabbed a large duffle bag.

Before we went any further someone spoke up, "Maybe we should go in pairs. It could be safer," Ben suggested.

"That's a good idea," Beth replied.

"Okay, who's with who the-" Before I could finish, Clover had interrupted me.

"I'll go with Carl!" She exclaimed.

Carl's eyes widened as if he had just seen hell. A hell worse than the one we were living now, to say the least. Clover smiled and dragged him towards her.

"Okay then," I started, "I'll be fine with whoever I get. You guys can pick."

Beth jogged over to me and Jade crossed to Ben.

"It's settled then," Jade said, "So I think Carl and Clover should take the pharmacy and the interior décor store. We're low on anti-biotics and we're in desperate need of new blankets. Beth and Bianca can take the small gun shop and sports equipment. You know-weapons. And then Ben and I will take the grocery place and if we can get to it we'll also search the auto parts store. Don't count on it though."

All of us nodded in agreement and Beth and I split off from the group. We trudged our way to the gun and ammo shop first 'cause we thought that was more important than fishing rods and stuff.
