Before I begin, no one is probably going to read this, but that's ok. It's based partially on a true story, and yeah, the car above is real, my car to be exact.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess it's not unusual for a mother and daughter to get into an accident together. But the way ours happened...
We were lucky to walk away alive.
But that is beside the point, it happened a little something like this...
We began to get into the car after leaving Stewart's shop, my mother holding her tea and I holding a bag of gummy peach rings. I set the bag on my lap and began to organize the glove box, which happened to be a disgusting mess. "Careful what you throw away, your father may just kill me if we throw away a bill it something." I chuckled at my mother's response, my father was always very particular with these kinds of things.
She pulled out of the parking lot and drove towards the main road, speeding down the seemingly abandon street.
It was like waking up from never falling asleep, the hood of our black Honda Civic was up over the from wind shield. The air bags deployed, a smoke was filling the car. It's just cornstarch Rase, stay still.
Little did I realize before the excruciating pain that was climbing up my abdomen to my chest. I couldn't feel my legs, I was completely paralyzed. Screaming was inevitable, I couldn't breath, I gasped for air as my door was flung open and my seat belt was cut.
"Help me, Please!" My ears rung, but I could still hear just enough. The man went over to my mother's side as she begged for him to help me, "Forget me, go to her!" He ran back around and kneeled down beside the open passenger door, "Hi, my name is Shay, what's your name?" I bit my lip as my back and neck aches. "I'm R-Rase," he nods his head, "I c-can't feel m-my legs." He patted my hand and continued to distract me "How old are you?" I could hear sirens, only a faint high pitched screeching, "I'm 16, a junior." The fire truck is flashing lights and blaring sirens except it is extremely faint.
A firefighter came to my door and replaced Shay. "Where does it hurt?" He asks, "My ears are ringing and my back and neck hurts," sniffle "I can't feel my legs." And at that moment my tears increased ten fold. "Ok, I need you to do something for me, I need you to keep your head and body very still while we put on a brace, can you do that for me?" I nod my head.
All of a sudden a man was in the back seat, holding my head as two men carefully picked up my paralyzed body and lifted me onto the stretcher. I sat and watched as my mother has her seat belt cut and carefully gets up out of the car and is walking around. They roll the stretcher closer to the ambulance and left it in.
Locking the rolling bed into place, they shut the doors with a bang that doesn't help me constantly ringing ears. My eyes just want to droop, sending me into a fitful sleep. But I force it open. A paramedic takes my blood pressure and flashes a light into my eyes, he puts a heart monitor on my finger. My eyes try to drop from sleepiness as he looks to someone behind me and says "she caught the brunt of the force, no matter how much you swerved to get around the car."
And at that moment I couldn't help but to let my eyes fall.
Waking up in a hospital is definitely odd, I excepted to hear a little more noise, but I guess not. I attempted sitting up, but a nurse quickly came and pushed my shoulders back down as a fire like pain traveled through my body. I screamed, at least I thought I did.
The nurse tried to talk to me, but I couldn't hear her, I couldn't hear anything. I was having a panic attack, my heart beat escalated quickly as I looked up to the monitor. My eyes moved from place to place as I began to sweat.
Two other nurses came and began starting an I.V. And injected morphine into my blood system. I instantly calmed. A woman quickly wrote something down on a piece of paper and held it in front of my face. 'Rase, we know this is scary, but we need you to understand that there is noting we could do or can do. You will be deaf for the rest of your life.'
          And that was my breaking point, I cried until no more tears could be shed.  All I could do was fall back asleep and hopefully wake up from this dreadful nightmare.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

          When I woke for the second time, everything was still silent, meaning this is reality. I'm going to be deaf for possibly forever.
          I clicked the red button on my remote and in came a nurse. She had a pitiful look on her face, she took the pad of paper from the side table and began to write; Rase, I am so sorry to inform you, but your parents have left, they paid all the medical bills and expenses and left you $15,000 in cash. They also left you a car out in the parking lot.
          If I thought it couldn't get any worse, it just did.
