-Chapter two-

(Boris)

I trotted through the forest, past Ash's human family's house and paused a moment as I looked over it. Should I walk in and tell them? Maybe they could help by calling the police and filing a missing persons report. I shook my head and began trotting back to the pack house. Ulric should tell them. I will be there when he does though.

It didn't take me long to reach the back porch of the pack house, where Royce was sitting with Jarric and Ulric. I looked between the three and then shifted before saying, "Back."

"You say that as if all you did was go for a quick stroll." Jarric says and I frown.

"Did you find where the vampire's scent leads?" Ulric quickly asks, looking worried and slightly scared. Royce looked at him confused.

"Yeah," I looked him in the eyes. "I can't trace it any farther than on a dirt road called Grays Drive near town. They had got into a car and drove away. I'm not a scout, so I came back to get some to see if they can trace the scent any farther."

"What are you guys talking about?" Royce asked, still confused. "Vampires? What about them?"

I look at Ulric again. "You haven't told him yet, have you?"

He shakes his head as he says, "I was just about to when you showed up." He then takes a deep breath before looking at Royce with an upset, worried expression. "Royce...Ash...Ash has been kidnapped by vampires."

(Royce)

"Ash was what?!" I yell, surprised, upset, angry, and every other emotion you could come up with. "What do you mean he was kidnapped by vampires?! When did it happen? When were you going to tell my parents and me?"

"Please calm down Royce, we know you're upset. We all are." Jarric tells me. I shake my head and look at Ulric.

"Tell me, Ulric." He looks at me, looking just as upset as I was.

"He was taken the same night as the alpha battle."

"Three days ago?! And your just now telling me?!" I get angry again.

"I...I was going to tell you sooner but I...I just didn't know how to..." He looks down ashamed.

"Just like you did! Look Ulric, Ash is my brother, and I think I'm entitled o know that my little brother was kidnapped as soon as it happens!"

"Calm down!" Jarric snaps and I flip on him.

"No! I will not calm down! My little brother has been kidnapped and what are you guys doing? Fallowing vampires around!"

"We are doing all we can." Jarric says and looks at me sternly. "We are fallowing the scent of the vampires we know who took him."

"And that's it?! Call the police! File a kidnapping and get them looking too!" I breath heavily in anger and glare at everyone.

"We can't get the police involved." Ulric says softly and shakes his head. "We can't get humans involved in our affairs. That would expose us."

"Well don't tell them what you are! Just file the report!"

"It's not that simple!" He suddenly screams at me and I'm forced to take a step back in surprise. "The police will want to ask questions and be taken to the place he was taken from to gather evidence. We can't just let them come in here and search the place. They would find things we don't want humans to know about us."
