Long tousled blond streaks were still wet as she threw her head back and shook it out like a wet dog. A spray of water soaked us both while we stood there transfixed by her beauty. She wrung the towel dry before using it to rub down again.

"Do you need help with that?" I offered generously. Mer needed to be completely dry before she reverted back to standing on a pair of enticingly long and sexy legs. Her massive torso swung my way. I suppose hers was the only one that could rival my Ebony's.

"I am almost dry," said Mer as a large starfish wiggled to plop off one mound freeing her luscious curve for all to see. All here being just me. For I was as certain as being in anyone's head could make me be, that Ebony's furious gaze was still locked on me. I did my best to avert my gaze from Mer, trying my best to put on my most aloof facade as I tried not to let Ebony see me ogle Mer.

I suppose... for a mermaid... Mer didn't fare too badly.

Still, I didn't see the need for the venom of pure jealousy frothing in Ebony's mind. It certainly took out the pleasure of watching Mer get dry.

I bent down to pick up her towel.  "You should keep more than one here'" I grumbled to Mer. Eversince, I introduced her to this cove, Mer had been using this cove to make her exit from the seas. But it has been a couple of years since I last saw her. Having finished her schooling here on land, Mer worked a bit with Ebony's dad then took off for the deep blue seas. We had a short scorching fling before she went under but the memories was still very vivid. For her too it would seem.

I straightened up to find her arms wrapped about my shoulders. So I lifted her off the ground and decided to simply carry her up to the house. It would take an hour more at least before her feet appeared and at least half an hour after that before she could put her weight on it.

The last of the starfish had wiggled off and I now felt her bare torso meshed against my own. I suppose given any other circumstances, I would have taken great pleasure from that contact but with Ebony loud and clear behind me, I could only wince in pain at every step I took.

I was so engrossed in Ebony's hurt and despair that I totally failed to take note of Mer's welcome. It was only when confusion laced her thoughts heavily as her eyes sought to understand mine that I became aware of anything at all. I had been so lost in Ebony's thoughts that I had drowned out everyone else's including my own.

I stared uncomprehendingly at the swarm of people that suddenly surrounded us. We had reached the house and I had been oblivious to the passage of time the whole way. I reached out the bundle that was Mer to thrust her into Ebony's brother, Jasper's surprised arms.

Then I turned on Ebony with enough animosity to have her take two steps back in surprise.

"Mer!" Amethyst's glad cry startled me out of my instinctive reaction. So that I only just managed to side step the hurling tornado that was Ebony's little sister as she flung herself into Mers outstretched arms. I watched the awkward trio do an odd juggle before Julian stepped up to haul Amethyst aside. He enveloped Mer from the other side and together, Julian and Jasper, hoisted her off upstairs to her room. The twins seemed completely oblivious to hot women held between them but I knew better. Knowing their heated thoughts did nothing to stem my own heat. Only mine wasn't really for Mer.

Nope, it was for the twins annoying as hell, recalcitrant older sister, Ebony.
