Back To School (Reading)

Well, that day went by fast.
Janelle--Bless her sweet heart--was nice enough to let me bring one of her books to school with me. So, since I got to homeroom early, I took out Paper Towns by John Green and started reading.
"Why are you always reading?" I know that voice. No, I HATE that voice. It was the voice of Serenity, my stuck up half friend half enemy.
I WANTED to say, "Serenity, this is LITERALLY the first time you've seen me reading, so you better--!" But instead--Because I knew I'd get in trouble if I actually said that--I said, "Serenity...I'm reading on my own for the first time since the beginning of the year."
So she casually said, "Okay, whatever."
     That's what I like about Serenity--she doesn't start anything.
