{The Day before the Uchiha Massacre}

3rd Person POV:

In a dark alley a little boy of the age of 8 with Sunshine-Yellow Hair, Big Crystal Ocean Blue eyes and whisker marked cheeks sat huddling beside garbage bags under a cardboard box, crying quietly to himself. He wished for the day where someone would come and give him the love and comfort you would get from a family member. Every once and a while he would hear footsteps walking by the opening of the alley, when they did he would curl up more to try and become as small as possible so he wouldn't get another beating from the citizens and shinobi alike. Shortly after it downed dusk he heard another set of footsteps but they were more quiet like the person didn't want to be heard when the sounds stopped altogether. When he heard a noise 2 feet in front of his makeshift shelter, looking up he seen a girl not even 10 yet watching him; he curled up as much as he could to try to hide. But it did no good because the next thing he knew was that she was smiling sadly at him slowly reaching to petting his hair.

"Hello," she whispered, "What's your name?" she greeted him, petting his hair.

"M...my na...name is Naru...to Uzu...maki, plea...se don't hurt me," the boy answered stuttering a little cause of fear of being beating.

The girl paused petting his head but then just continued again. "Shhh... you don't have to worry I'm not here to harm you. My name is Emi Yozuki, it's nice to meet you Naruto," she stated quietly while pulling Naruto into a much needed hug and slowly began to rock back and forth like a mother.

Slowly relaxing into Emi's hold, "Tell me more about you, Naruto? What would you like to be? What are your hobbies, likes, dislikes; dreams?" she questioned, still slightly moving.

"Umm... I would like to be a ninja; my hobbies are... pranks; my likes are Ramen, the old man Hokage; my dislikes are people hurting me when I don't even know why," a tear slipped down his eye, "Oh, and my dreams is to become the Hokage, Believe it!" Naruto finished on a happy note, a smile gracing his lips.

Naruto just started lightly hugging back, when a question popped into her head, "Hey Naruto, what would you say if you were able to leave the Village for a few years then come back? Would you say yes or no?"

Naruto looked at her, 'Able to leave here for a few years then come back, but what about me becoming a ninja though' he thought. "You don't have to pick right at this moment. But I'll help you train to become a ninja and all that, too. How about I give you today to decide what you would want and if you choose yes, meet me at the front gates when the moon is high in the sky tomorrow. When you see a fire coloured fur of a fox with gold eyes that would be me, ok?" Emi questioned and stated for Naruto; the choice was his.

Naruto looked up at her face to see that she still had that sad smile gracing her lips; when she started to hum.

'I wanted you to know

That I love the way you laugh.

I wanna hold you high

And steal your pain.

AWAY

I keep your photograph,

I know it serves me well.

I wanna hold you high

And steal your pain

Because I'm broken

When I'm lonesome

And I don't feel right

When you're gone away

You're gone away

You don't feel me here anymore

The worst is over now
