I feel the eyes of all the initiates on me, their snickers and whispers fill my mind. Their voices circling in my head like hungry sharks, calling to my subconscious. I see the target 30 metres from me, the coloured circles getting smaller and smaller, until black dots appear in my vision. I fill the lightness of the arrow as it falls into my hands, my fingers clasping around the bow, finger by finger. My breathes uneven, are now the only noise in the room, I draw back my arm and aim.I swivel on my heel and release the arrow into the crowd of initiates behind me, they separate like a receding sea. The arrow pins someones shirt sleeve to the wall and everyone turns in astonishment. I wish I could've seen their reactions, but by then I had already bolted.
Author's note-
Please let me know your thoughts, this book is inspired by the divergent and hunger games and even a little bit of the maze runner. But trust me, it has its own identity! Publishing new Chapter randomly;):)
